United States men’s national team and Chivas forward Cade Cowell scored his first goal of the new Liga MX Apertura against Tijuana in style on Friday.
While Chivas lost the game 4-2, Cowell was one of the few positives from the defeat as he netted a great solo goal and added a beautiful assist.
With Chivas trailing 2-0 in the second half, Cowell halved the deficit in the 69th minute after slipping past three defenders and beating the goalkeeper.

What a move from the 20-year-old.
Things wouldn’t go Chivas’ way as Tijuana would score two more goals to put the game out of reach.
In the ninth minute of stoppage time Cowell provided a lovely bending assist to Armando González for a late consolation goal.

Cowell will be pleased with the hot start to the new season after scoring four goals in 22 appearances across all competitions last season.
He’s made eight appearances for the senior USMNT, scoring in last year’s Concacaf Gold Cup.
