35-year-old Benfica captain Luisao gave his younger teammates an invaluable lesson when it comes to asserting yourself in their match against Feirense on Sunday. With the ball in an extremely dangerous free kick position, Feirense created a five-man wall that gradually increased as Benfica players attempted to disrupt it.
Captain Luisao can be seen instructing his teammates to get stuck in. Eventually, as Benfica's attempts at blowing up the wall fail, Luisao takes matters into his own hands by striving forward into the quagmire. His arrival upon the scene is like the sudden emergence of a black hole, Feirense players inexplicably pulled towards him and absolutely dismantling their organization.
The resulting free kick goes up and over Feirense's nine-man wall and into the net — Luisao clearly demonstrating that he is a leader of men.
