Liverpool announces Arne Slot as new manager
Liverpool have announced that manager Arne Slot from Feyenoord as their new manager, set to replace the legendary Jürgen Klopp next season.
Slot, who has been at the helm of the Eredivisie club since 2021, led Feyenoord to the league title in the 2022/23 season and the KNVB Cup this year. Additionally, the manager led Feyenoord to their first-ever Europa Conference League final in his debut season.
The Dutch manager’s appointment was heavily speculated after multiple reports of his move to Liverpool next season, with Slot even confirming his wish to be at Anfield this summer.
Slot will be replacing legendary Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp after spending nine years with the club and receiving an incredible farewell by fans in the German’s last-ever home game on Sunday.
Klopp led The Reds to a Premier League, UEFA Champions League, Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup, Community Shield and two Carabao Cups.
The former Liverpool manager used his farewell ceremony to welcome Slot to the club, encouraging the fans to believe in the new start and starting a chant with the incoming manager’s name with the fans present at Andield.
