Landon Donovan’s Forgettable Season In Mexico Ends With A Brawl

Landon Donovan’s first season in Liga MX ended on Saturday with Club Leon defeating Guadalajara 2-0 in a match between two clubs already eliminated from playoff contention. Donovan played the game’s final 15 minutes, giving him a grand total of only 112 Liga MX minutes from only six appearances in the Clausura season.

Mexico Could Celebrate Its World Cup Success In The U.S. This Fall

USMNT fans are in for a long summer, but they can at least look forward to an exciting slate of matches this fall. The USMNT Mexico friendly will reportedly take place during the September international break somewhere on U.S. soil.

If it's anything like most "home" matches for the USMNT against El Tri, expect green jerseys to outnumber those in red, white and blue.

Rafa Marquez's Final Atlas Home Game Will Make You Feel Feelings

Rafa Marquez means more to Atlas fans than some lesser family members. Probably.

The 39-year-old defender began his professional career at the Guadalajara club, making 77 appearances from 1996-1999. He left and played for Monaco, Barcelona, New York Red Bulls, Leon and Hellas Verona before returning home in 2016 to finish his career at Atlas.

Look how Atlas fans responded to Marquez making his final appearance at the Estadio Jalisco on Friday, in the Clasico Tapatio no less:

Should Club America Fans Support Chivas In The CCL Final?

The Chivas vs Toronto CONCACAF Champions League final has divided soccer aficionados in Mexico. Of course every Guadalajara fan is all in for their team, and even some other Mexican soccer enthusiasts have expressed their solidarity with them.

However, not everyone in Mexico is longing for a Chivas victory.

Hirving Lozano Scored Again Because He Is A Monster

It's official: Chucky Lozano is scarier than Chucky the doll. The 22-year-old former Pachuca winger scored his 16th goal of the Eredivisie season Wednesday, a season in which PSV has already clinched the league title. Not bad for his first season in Europe.

Lozano has been a revelation this season, a delightful surprise. His assured far-post finish shows how the youngster plays beyond his years and has quickly become Mexico's best player. At least, he was in the Confederations Cup.

Chivas Take Commanding Lead In Concacaf Champions League Final

That did not go as planned for Toronto FC. Having just knocked mighty Club America out of the Concacaf Champions League, the reigning MLS champions surely figured to have an easier time of it against Chivas Guadalajara in the final. Chivas are having a terrible season domestically, but for some reason have been kryptonite for MLS clubs in the CCL.

They were again, handing Sebastian Giovinco and friends a 2-1 defeat in Toronto and taking a solid lead back to Mexico for the second leg.

Rodolfo Pizarro opened the scoring just a few minutes in the game.

Hirving Lozano Won The Eredivisie With PSV In His First Season In Europe

Hirving Lozano has not even completed a full season in Europe yet, but the 22-year-old Mexican winger has already collected his first title. PSV Eindhoven wrapped up the Eredivisie on the weekend in the best possible way, beating fellow Eredivisie giant Ajax to seal the deal, with much of the credit going to the club's new signing from Pachuca.

And the fans let him know how they feel about him.

Watch Marco Fabian Score Against Chicharito's Old Team

Fans of the Bundesliga and Mexico will remember fondly two seasons ago when Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez signed with Bayer Leverkusen from Manchester United and took Germany by storm, scoring 26 goals in all competitions, 17 in the league.

Marco Fabian also arrived in Germany that season, transferring during the winter window from Chivas Guadalajara to Eintracht Frankfurt. Chicharito is no longer in the Bundesliga, but Fabian still is, and he scored against Chicharito's old club when Frankfurt met Leverkusen on Saturday.

Hector Herrera Redefines Clutch With 90th-Minute, Title-Deciding Golazo

A top of the table clash in the Primeira Liga between first place Benfica and second place Porto went a long way toward deciding the title on Sunday. Thanks to Hector Herrera’s 90th-minute strike at the Estadio da Luz, Porto dramatically leapfrogged Benfica in the table, going two points clear with four matches remaining.

Chivas Advance To First Champions League Final Since 2007 Thanks To Rodolfo Cota

An extremely strong contingent of Guadalajara supporters inside Red Bull Arena watched their side hang on for the narrowest of victories on Tuesday night, Chivas doing just enough to retain their 1-0 first leg advantage over New York in the CONCACAF Champions League semifinals despite being outshot 20-1 in the second.
