Donald Glover has accomplished more by the age of 35 than most people will in their entire life. But this might be his crowning achievement. 

Forget his writing chops on 30 Rock, his comedic acting on Community, his range on Atlanta or his musical ability as Childish Gambino. We just love his FIFA 19 Squad Battles team.

We’re going to be honest, we’re not quite sure what to call whatever it is that Jadon Sancho just did. But it was bloody brilliant, and perhaps the best thing we can say about it is that it reminded us of Ronaldinho. 

In the early days of Major League Soccer, it wasn’t uncommon for players to take up part-time jobs in the offseason to supplement what was often meager pay. While many players made a comfortable living, rookies and squad players often struggled to make ends meet. 

These days, every MLS player makes at least $54,000 — a livable wage to be sure, but nothing spectacular. Minnesota United center back Brent Kallman recently made more than that playing another — far less physically demanding — game.

As much as we all love soccer here at The18 and around the world, we have to admit that there are a few things more important than the beautiful game. First comes survival: We need food and water, plus a place to live. After that comes sex, followed by our social desires such as parenting and friendship. Only then do we really get to soccer. 

As if Kansas City hadn’t fallen hard enough for Patrick Mahomes — what with his absurd 37 touchdowns and 330 yards passing per game as a sophomore in the NFL — the Chiefs quarterback gained even more fans on Thursday night by turning out in support of Sporting KC during the MLS playoffs.
