Lampard back at Chelsea as caretaker manager

LONDON - Frank Lampard has returned to Chelsea as caretaker manager until the end of the season following the sacking of Graham Potter, the Premier League club confirmed on Thursday.

The club's record goalscorer and fans' favorite previously spent 19 months as manager at Stamford Bridge before being dismissed in January 2021.

In a shocking twist to Chelsea’s managerial merry-go-round, the London club is talking to former player and manager Frank Lampard for a potential reunion. Lampard would be a caretaker manager until the end of the season as the club figures out a long-term manager.

Lampard oversaw Chelsea from July 2019 through January 2021 when he was replaced by Thomas Tuchel. Lampard then spent a year managing Everton from January 2022 until January 2023. He was sacked after Everton sat 19th in the league.

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale says that USMNT and back-up Gunners keeper Matt Turner is the funniest guy on the team. Turner is “unintentionally” funny Ramsdale said.

During an interview that looked like a lie detector test, Ramsdale was asked if he was the funniest player on the Arsenal squad. To the surprise of the interviewer Ramsdale quickly said no.

The English goalkeeper went on to explain that he thinks his fellow shot-stopper Turner is the most humorous because of his ‘Americanisms.’

Leeds United and USMNT defensive midfielder Tyler Adams will miss the rest of the 2022-23 season after undergoing surgery for a hamstring injury.

Adams missed Leeds’ final game before the March international window, a 4-2 victory vs. Wolves, with a hamstring issue. The problem is more severe than originally anticipated and the American will be out for an extended period.

The injury occurred during training with Leeds.
