LONDON — West Ham United player Kurt Zouma's cats are being cared for by animal charity the RSPCA after a video emerged showing the Frenchman kicking one pet across the floor, and Vitality said it was suspending its sponsorship of the Premier League club over its handling of the incident.
Update: After initially choosing not to look into the incident, police are now launching enquiries about the Zouma incident.
A truly horrifying Kurt Zouma cat video was leaked onto the internet Monday that showed the West Ham defender abusing his cat while people laughed. In the video he's seen slapping, kicking and throwing shoes at one of his two felines.

FC Cologne coach Steffen Baumgart is one of the more demonstrative managers in the Bundesliga. Forced to watch Cologne’s big game against Freiburg from home while self-isolating after testing positive for Covid-19, Baumgart brought his antics from the sidelines to his own living room on Saturday. Fortunately, he had a very good doggo to keep him calm.
Cologne beat Freiburg 1-0 on Saturday to move up to sixth place, within one point of Freiburg for Europa League contention and two points back of fourth-place Union Berlin, currently clutching to the final Champions League berth.
The USMNT was humbled by a superior Canada 2-0 on Sunday in World Cup qualifying. The best American male player, Christian Pulisic, was largely ineffective during the massive showdown between the top two teams in Concacaf right now. The Chelsea winger attempted four dribbles, failing to complete a single one.
Maybe Pulisic should’ve taken some notes from Sprout the camel.
Two years into the COVID pandemic, it's safe to say we've all experienced at least one Zoom mishap. Just a couple days ago, for example, my three-year-old daughter yelled "yeah!" after an idea I shared with my colleagues at The18. It wasn't a great idea, but the "yeah!" brought some laughs and a consolation comment from my boss: "At least someone liked it."
Inter Miami began preseason training for the 2022 campaign this week, and Brek Shea was back with the club after signing a new deal on Wednesday.
