The Germany vs. Netherlands friendly that was supposed to take place today has been cancelled, and the stadium evacuated, because officials reportedly discovered a "concrete plan" to detonate a bomb inside the stadium, The Guardian reported.
“We have received concrete information that someone was planning to set off explosives inside the stadium,” Hannover police chief Volker Kluwe told German news agency DPA.
At least 40 people have been reported killed (some reports put this number as high as 140) in multiple terror attacks that took place near and during the Germany-France friendly at the Stade de France in Germany. The attack featured several explosive devices, one of which could be heard by spectators and players in the match.
