It’s officially fall. While others may mark the end of summer via the return of pumpkin spice lattes or the autumnal equinox, real ones know fall doesn’t begin until the new edition of FIFA is released. With FIFA 22’s worldwide release today, I thought I’d share my early thoughts on the latest installment from EA Sports. I’ve been playing FIFA 22 on PS5 this week and have come away mostly impressed but occasionally baffled.
The worlds of football and Gucci are no strangers to each other. On any given weekend you’ll see countless professionals departing the team bus and heading to the dressing room with their Gucci handbags in tow (except Kieran Tierney).
On the pitch, the greatest purveyor of the luxury fashion house is Newcastle’s Allan Saint-Maximin, who frequently embarrasses defenders while wearing a $250 Gucci headband with a sticker over the branding to avoid a fine.
Funniest. Funeral. Ever. With a side of some heart-wrenching moments. It was the quintessential “Ted Lasso” episode, and it had me laughing through tears for nearly 45 minutes.

All six episodes will be available for streaming that day, and we really have high hopes for this one given the period in which it was filmed.

It’s here! The official FIFA 22 soundtrack playlist has been revealed and curated on Spotify by EA SPORTS, allowing you to get an early taste of the music that’ll be reverberating around your living room come the game’s release date of October 1, 2021.
According to the press release, it’s the largest FIFA soundtrack ever with 122 songs, although those tracks are split between the main FIFA 22 soundtrack (52 songs) and the VOLTA FOOTBALL soundtrack (70 songs).
On Sunday, “Ted Lasso” is up for 20 Emmy Awards. While there’s no way the show wins them all — many cast and crew are nominated for the same honor — there’s no doubt the series will bring home at least some hardware. Ahead of the award show, many of the Ted Lasso actors did interviews on late-night TV shows. I’ve compiled a bunch of the clips so that, if you’re like me and can’t get enough of the show, you can see a little more “Ted Lasso” before Season 2 comes to an end in a few weeks.
Being an American fan of a Premier League club or other European team has its ups and downs. On the positive side you get to watch some elite soccer in the morning/afternoon and watching games is extraordinarily simpler today than say 10 years ago.
The downs are still in existence. Rarely (if ever) getting to see your favorite team in person isn’t any fun, having to pay the NBC overlords to stroke their Peacock sucks and still having to deal with Americans that hate soccer is annoying to say the least.
It’s about time. After 18 episodes of doing his own thing in the background as Ted Lasso’s selfless assistant coach, Coach Beard, played by Brendan Hunt, finally got his chance to be the focus on an episode of “Ted Lasso.” While Season 2, Episode 9 “Beard After Hours” probably wasn’t the best episode — some might argue it was the worst — it was certainly the most unique, and I guarantee many will say it was their favorite.

Another year, another FIFA game where it’s obvious EA Sports paid no attention to women’s soccer. The FIFA 22 women's ratings are somehow even worse than last year, once again proving the WoSo portion of the franchise is merely lip service to try to appease women without actually putting in any effort.
