In a shocking twist to Chelsea’s managerial merry-go-round, the London club is talking to former player and manager Frank Lampard for a potential reunion. Lampard would be a caretaker manager until the end of the season as the club figures out a long-term manager.

Lampard oversaw Chelsea from July 2019 through January 2021 when he was replaced by Thomas Tuchel. Lampard then spent a year managing Everton from January 2022 until January 2023. He was sacked after Everton sat 19th in the league.

Lehmann saw the ball getting behind her, so she decided to stop and unleash a rabona that surprised the goalie and everybody on the training grounds.

Chelsea drop to bottom half of the table after 2-0 loss to Aston Villa

LONDON — Goals from striker Ollie Watkins and captain John McGinn earned Aston Villa all three points in a pulsating 2-0 Premier League mid-table win at Chelsea on Saturday.

The result sent Villa into ninth in the table, leapfrogging Chelsea, who dropped into the bottom half.

Watkins took his chance in the 18th minute after a mistake from retreating defender Marc Cucurella, who headed a long ball into his path and he calmly lobbed his shot over advancing Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Indirect free kick! Brentford vs. Brighton had a little bit of everything

Brighton and Brentford shared the points on Saturday in an exhilarating 3-3 draw that saw the Gulls equalize three separate times. The back-and-forth affair also saw a rare set piece you don’t see too often: an indirect free kick in the penalty area.

In the 11th minute Brentford were awarded the indirect free kick after Brighton’s Pervis Estupiñán poked the ball back to Jason Steele who picked up the ball.

Julian Alvarez, Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Jack Grealish were all on target for Pep Guardiola's side in a goal-packed return to Premier League action after the international break.

The victory puts City five points behind the Gunners, who play Leeds United later on Saturday.

Aaron Ramsdale can’t keep straight face talking about Matt Turner’s ‘Americanisms’

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale says that USMNT and back-up Gunners keeper Matt Turner is the funniest guy on the team. Turner is “unintentionally” funny Ramsdale said.

During an interview that looked like a lie detector test, Ramsdale was asked if he was the funniest player on the Arsenal squad. To the surprise of the interviewer Ramsdale quickly said no.

The English goalkeeper went on to explain that he thinks his fellow shot-stopper Turner is the most humorous because of his ‘Americanisms.’

MANCHESTER — Manchester City forward Erling Haaland is a doubt for Saturday's home game against Liverpool in the Premier League but may be risked, manager Pep Guardiola said, as his side maintain their chase of leaders Arsenal.

Haaland, who joined City this season from Borussia Dortmund, has scored 42 goals in 37 matches in all competitions, but suffered a groin injury against Burnley on March 18, and pulled out of Norway's squad for their Euro 2024 qualifiers.
