Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said his team's 6-1 hammering at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday was his worst day at the club.

It was United's joint worst loss in the Premier League era — equalling their 6-1 defeat by Manchester City in 2011.

"It's a horrible feeling, the worst day I've had as a Manchester United manager and player," said the Norwegian after his side, reduced to 10 men for the last hour, were ripped apart by Jose Mourinho's Spurs.

Tottenham gave Manchester United a historic beatdown on Sunday, winning 6-1 at Old Trafford after scoring four goals in an opening 37-minute barrage that also saw Anthony Martial sent off.

And things started so brightly for the Red Devils after Davinson Sánchez hacked down Martial in the area, leading to a Bruno Fernandes penalty with only two minutes on the clock.

Arsenal scored two goals in four minutes to grab a 2-1 Premier League home win over struggling Sheffield United, with Bukayo Saka and Nicolas Pepe getting on the scoresheet in the second half as the Gunners' misfiring attack finally found its rhythm.

Manchester United has agreed a two-year deal with former Paris St Germain striker Edinson Cavani, French daily L'Equipe reported on Saturday.

Uruguay international Cavani is a free agent having left Ligue 1 champions PSG at the end of his contract in June.

Liverpool forward Sadio Mané has become the second player from the English Premier League champions to test positive for COVID-19 this week.

The club said in a statement on Friday that the Senegalese, who scored in Monday's 3-1 league win over Arsenal, has displayed minor symptoms of the virus but feels in good health overall.

Sadio Mane has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently self-isolating according to the necessary guidelines.

Sheffield United has signed Liverpool's 20-year-old striker Rhian Brewster on a five-year deal in a club-record deal, the Premier League outfit said on Friday.

United did not disclose the transfer fee but British media said it paid 23.5 million pounds ($30.40 million) for the England Under-21 international.

In-form Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has earned his first call-up to the senior England squad while Phil Foden and Mason Greenwood were dropped for disciplinary reasons.

England host a friendly with Wales on Oct. 8 before Nations League matches at home to Belgium and Denmark.

Calvert-Lewin has scored eight goals this season in all competitions, including a hat-trick against West Ham United in the League Cup fourth round on Wednesday.
