Barcelona snatch thrilling 2-2 draw with Man Utd after Rashford's latest mater class

BARCELONA - Barcelona fought back to earn a 2-2 draw with Manchester United in a pulsating Europa League knockout round playoff first leg on Thursday.

United were the better side for large parts of the game and controlled the tempo but were denied by goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen who made three outstanding saves in the first half.

Karim Adeyemi going coast-to-coast on Chelsea and celebrating with a backflip was too mean

Karim Adeyemi has been playing his best football at Borussia Dortmund since returning from the World Cup with Germany, and against Chelsea at Signal Iduna Park in Wednesday night's Champions League Round of 16 first leg the 21-year-old truly announced himself with a match-winning solo goal.

The game was very reminiscent of Diego Maradona vs. England in the 1986 World Cup quarterfinals.

First, Thiago Silva tried to do his best "Hand of God" impression. The center back had the ball in the back of the net but the ref spotted the infringement and booked the Brazilian. Booo.

Manchester City reclaim top of EPL table after smashing Arsenal 3-1

LONDON — Manchester City knocked Arsenal off their Premier League perch as second-half goals by Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland earned the champions a 3-1 victory in a feisty top-of-the-table clash at The Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.

Arsenal had come from a goal down and looked capable of ending a 10-game losing streak in the league against City but they ultimately came up short as their hopes of a first league title since 2004 suffered a big setback.

AC Milan marked their long-awaited return to the UEFA Champions League knockout stages with an important 1-0 victory vs. Tottenham at the San Siro on Tuesday in leg one of the Round of 16 matchup.

The game-winning goal came as early as the seventh minute when Brahim Díaz bundled the ball into Spurs’ net.

With Hugo Lloris out with a knee injury Fraser Forster filled in between the posts for Tottenham. Moments before the Milan goal the 34-year-old keeper produced an incredible double-save.

Guardiola's apology to Gerrard for slip joke was almost as funny as Gerrard's slip

In life we have those rare instances that become so engrained in the memory they become "where were you when..." moments. One of those instances was Steven Gerrard's infamous slip against Chelsea that cost Liverpool the 2013-14 Premier League title.

Núñez and Salah link on breathtaking counter as Liverpool down Everton in derby

LIVERPOOL, England - Liverpool's Cody Gakpo scored his first goal for the club as they halted a dismal run by beating relegation-threatened city rivals Everton 2-0 at Anfield in the Premier League on Monday.

Mohamed Salah opened the scoring in the 36th minute, linking up with Darwin Núñez on the counter-attack just after Everton missed a glorious double chance to take the lead, with Dwight McNeil going close and James Tarkowski hitting the post.

The report added that the consortium will submit an initial bid for the club by the end of the week, and that officials from Qatar Investment Authority are helping with preparations for the bid.

Victim complex at Man City reaches pathetic high as Guardiola claims he has 'smallest squad in PL'

MANCHESTER, England - Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola claimed his squad depth is the lowest in the Premier League after Sunday's victory over Aston Villa left his side just three points off the top.

Goals by Rodri and İlkay Gündoğan and a penalty by Riyad Mahrez sealed a 3-1 win at the end of a week in which the champions were charged with more than 100 cases of alleged financial wrongdoing by the Premier League.

Riyad Mahrez roasts himself on Twitter after painful miss vs. Aston Villa

Rodri was named Man of the Match for his dominate midfield display, including one headed goal, in Manchester City's 3-1 beatdown of Aston Villa on Sunday, but winger Riyad Mahrez was certainly a close second. The Algerian provided for Rodri from a corner kick, and then he scored City's third from the penalty spot.

Mahrez probably would've won the game's individual honor if he would've finished a second opportunity in the 84th minute. Instead, with just Emiliano Martínez to beat, Mahrez spooned an effort wildly over from eight yards out.
