El Paso Locomotive FC Won Copa Tejas As Best Team In Texas. Its Prize? A Chips & Dip Platter

El Paso Locomotive FC beat out eight teams across three leagues to be crowned the best professional soccer club in Texas, winning the inaugural Copa Tejas Shield. Admittedly, that wasn’t too hard given how bad the MLS and NWSL clubs in Texas were in 2021, but we’re not here to discuss merits; we’re here to discuss ... chips and dip? No, that can’t be right.

¡Ups! Raúl Jiménez Le Arruina A Los Wolves El Gol Del Triunfo Sobre El Chelsea

Making Someone Watch A U.S. Friendly Vs. 10-Man Bosnia Is Now Considered Cruel And Unusual Punishment

My apologies and condolences go out to any poor unfortunate souls who canceled their Saturday night plans to watch the USMNT play Bosnia and Herzegovina. The U.S. defeated Bosnia 1-0 in what was perhaps one of most mundane soccer games ever played.

With it not being an official international break, there was no Christian Pulisic or Weston McKennie caliber of starpower. The purpose of this friendly was a tune-up game ahead of World Cup qualifying in January. This was a chance for some youngsters and fringe players to prove themselves to head coach Gregg Berhalter.

Bizarre Scenes As Croatian Player Gets Sent Off For His Penalty Kick Run-Up Routine

Peculiar red cards are given every once in a blue moon during professional games, but a Croatian player on Dinamo Zagreb may have taken the throne for the most bizarre. This Bruno Petkovic red card during his penalty kick routine is a new one.

Clemson Wins College Cup After Washington Keeper Whiffs On Clearance 26 Seconds Into Game

Clemson captured the 2021 Men's College Cup on Sunday after defeating Washington 2-0 at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, NC, behind two goals from junior forward Isaiah Reid — the first coming just 26 seconds into the match.

A Tigers clearance was launched up the pitch into Washington's third, and Huskies goalkeeper Sam Fowler rushed out to meet the danger with Reid chasing. But the sophomore keeper failed to make any contact with his attempted hoof, and Reid calmly guided a left-footed effort into the empty net.

Timbs Overpower The Timbers — NYCFC Overcomes Horrific Blown Call To Win Club’s First MLS Cup

New York City FC lifted MLS Cup for the first time in the club’s six-year history on Saturday after tying Portland 1-1 and defeating the Timbers 4-2 on penalty kicks. The Timbers were heavy favorites heading into the final, but the traveling NYCFC supporters pulled out their secret weapon: the timbs.

One of the biggest talking points of the game was the horrific blown call in the final seconds during the build-up of Portland’s equalizer. NYCFC was seconds from lifting its first title when Larrys Mabiala clearly fouled Maxime Chanot. Felipe Mora then put home the equalizer.

CBS Is Ready For MLS Cup Featuring Porto And New York City FC

CBS doesn’t have the broadcasting rights for MLS Cup and apparently couldn’t give less of a damn about who is playing. I was double-checking which channel was showing the game and clicked on the preview done by CBS.

Raúl Jiménez Must Have Broken Some Sort Of Record With Two Yellow Cards In 30 Seconds

Manchester City defeated Wolverhampton 1-0 on Saturday in a game that featured 10 heroic Wolves and one silly boy named Raúl Jiménez. The Mexican striker managed to get himself sent off moments before halftime with two yellow cards in 31 seconds. The Jiménez yellow cards vs Man City must be some sort of record.

Sam Kerr Decking A Pitch Invader Has Got To Be One Of The Most Satisfying Videos On Earth

As the Ancient Greeks used to say, “play stupid games, win stupid prizes.” One guy found this lesson out the hard way when he thought it would be great idea to interrupt a UEFA Women’s Champions League game by running onto the field. He would meet the stiffest shoulder from Chelsea’s Sam Kerr. This Sam Kerr pitch invader video will now sit among my favorite videos ever.
