It’s officially fall. While others may mark the end of summer via the return of pumpkin spice lattes or the autumnal equinox, real ones know fall doesn’t begin until the new edition of FIFA is released. With FIFA 22’s worldwide release today, I thought I’d share my early thoughts on the latest installment from EA Sports. I’ve been playing FIFA 22 on PS5 this week and have come away mostly impressed but occasionally baffled. 

There’s never been a better time to be a USMNT fan and a fan of FIFA and European football. With an impressive 22 American men playing in Europe’s continental club competitions, it could be a legitimate strategy to build your FUT squad around U.S. players. With that in mind, we’ve done the hard work for you and found the best Americans in FIFA 22.

When FIFA 22 releases on Oct. 1, fans around the world will take to Career Mode to live out their dream of being Roman Abramovich, except without the $400 million yacht. The big draw in this year’s edition is the ability to create your own club, but if you’re still wondering what team should I use in FIFA 22 Career Mode, then why not inject yourself straight into some of these topsy-turvy narratives? 

It’s here! The official FIFA 22 soundtrack playlist has been revealed and curated on Spotify by EA SPORTS, allowing you to get an early taste of the music that’ll be reverberating around your living room come the game’s release date of October 1, 2021.

According to the press release, it’s the largest FIFA soundtrack ever with 122 songs, although those tracks are split between the main FIFA 22 soundtrack (52 songs) and the VOLTA FOOTBALL soundtrack (70 songs). 

Another year, another FIFA game where it’s obvious EA Sports paid no attention to women’s soccer. The FIFA 22 women's ratings are somehow even worse than last year, once again proving the WoSo portion of the franchise is merely lip service to try to appease women without actually putting in any effort.

The FIFA 22 ratings are being revealed ahead of the game’s release on Oct. 1, providing us with some largely agreeable rankings mixed with Alexis Sánchez still ruling the world. 

It’s an unenviable task that usually ends with Thomas Müller being as effective as a wind-tossed plastic bag and Shakhtar Donetsk playing like ’82 Brazil, but maybe this is the year it all comes together.  

Daniil Medvedev claimed his first major singles title on Sunday, denying Novak Djokovic of a calendar grand slam to win the U.S. Open. What followed was a celebration only FIFA fans will understand.

After dropping Djokovic in straight sets, Medvedev dropped to the court, a move instantly recognizable to anyone who’s played FIFA in the last five years.

FIFA 22 announced the full list of squads available in the latest edition of the world’s preeminent soccer video game. Sadly, EA Sports has once again failed to put any real effort into the women’s portion of the game, which remains a sad little diversion instead of a meaningful game mode.
