The Front-Flip Scorpion Kick Exists, And A German Third-Tier Player Just Did It

We did not know that under the current laws of physics this goal was even possible. But it is. We've seen the video. And now you have too (or you will once you're done with the article).

This happened in the German third division, which is not a place where we normally go to find potential goals of the year. And yet here it is, in all its glory. A front-flipping scorpion kick. Zlatan Ibrahimovic hasn't even done this (yet).

Calamity Hits Chicago, Portland Pounces And Strikes Again.

The playoff race in the NWSL just gets tighter and tighter as the season winds down, and Sunday’s match featuring the Chicago Red Stars at the Portland Thorns drove that point home. 5th place Portland beat 2nd place Chicago 2-1, and tied FC Kansas City on points for the last playoff berth.

Watch Toni Duggan Score From An Impossible Angle

Yaya Toure's second goal against West Brom Monday was nice, but he didn't get Manchester City's best goal of the week. That went to Toni Duggan, who became the first woman to win Manchester City's "Goal of the Season" award with this volley against Chelsea last year:

Video: Giovani Dos Santos Scores In MLS Debut

Giovani dos Santos scored in his first appearance for the LA Galaxy, in the CONCACAF Champions League. Then, he turned around and scored in his MLS debut for the Galaxy, against the Seattle Sounders.

Miguel Layun Scores In His Premier League Debut

Mexican international Miguel Layun made his Premier League debut Saturday at Everton, and has a goal to show for it. Layun pounced on a ball bouncing around in the box in the 14th minute. He plays as a left back for Mexico but generally features as a midfielder for Watford.

Layun was substituted after 59 minutes. He is the fifth Mexican player to score in the Premier league, following Chicharito, Jared Borgetti, Guillermo Franco and Carlos Vela.

The game finished a 2-2 draw, a good result for newly-promoted Watford.

Giovani Dos Santos Scores In Debut For LA Galaxy

Giovani dos Santos wasted no time scoring on his debut for new club LA Galaxy after coming on as a sub in the CONCACAF Champions League group stage match against Central FC, from Trinidad & Tobago.

Galaxy beat Central FC 5-1. Dos Santos came on in the 57th minute for Alan Gordon, and got on the scoresheet in the 76th minute. He is scheduled to make his league debut Sunday at home against the Seattle Sounders.

MLS Had A Wild Weekend

What a weekend MLS had. Just about anything that could happen did happen. Here's a breakdown:

Record for goals in a day:

MLS broke its record for goals in a day with a 39-goal outburst across eight games on Saturday. The highlight was a 10-goal thriller between D.C. United and Real Salt Lake. Pay special attention to Taylor Kemp's volley and Nick DeLeon's shot to clinch it for D.C.

Cyle Larin's big year:

Chelsea Wins Women's FA Cup In Front Of Record Crowd

In front of a record 30,710 fans, Chelsea defeated Notts County 1-0 in the women's FA Cup final.

South Korean international Ji So-Yun got the game's only goal in the first half.

Given the crowd was a record for a women's FA Cup final, women's soccer seems to be enjoying an extended rise in popularity in England following the national team's extended run in the World Cup. Attendance records have also been set for women's soccer in the U.S this year.

This was the first women's FA Cup final to be held at Wembley Stadium.

When Harry Met Nicky

Nick Rimando looks like someone you'd want on your side in a bar fight. He's short for a goalie, but sturdy. He's friendly, gregarious even, but he gives off a subtle intensity, which loses its subtlety when he steps in front of a soccer goal. That's his territory, where he's made his living in MLS since 2000 with (now defunct) Miami Fusion, D.C. United and Real Salt Lake. At 36, he's an MLS lifer at this point.

Zlatan Forearm-Shivers John Terry In The Face

In a move we have dubbed "the flying Zlatan," Zlatan Ibrahimovic gave John Terry a forearm-shiver Saturday when PSG met up with Chelsea in the International Champions Cup.

There were claims that this was an elbow from Zlatan, but he clearly uses his forearm and not his elbow.

What could John Terry have done to provoke the wrath of Zlatan?
