Champions League Quarterfinals Goals - April 12, 2016

It has been a week and we miss Champions League very much. Thankfully, the second leg of the quarterfinals kicked off today with Real Madrid hosting Wolfsburg and PSG traveling to Manchester. With Real Madrid down, 2 - 0 to Wolfsburg, it was time for Cristiano Ronaldo. The superstar scored two goals in two minutes and completed his hat trick in the 77th minute to give Real Madrid the 3 - 2 lead on aggregate. Ronaldo scored in the 15th and 17th minutes in a stunning turn of events. Just like that, Madrid was tied with Wolfsburg and had all the momentum.

Here were two giants of modern club football going toe to toe with the mouthwatering prospect of a place in the semifinals at stake. Fueled by millions of dollars of investment, the squads sent out were the remuneration of yearly fine-tuning and financial one-upmanship.

The Champions League Quarterfinals continued today when PSG battled against Manchester City and Real Madrid visited Wolfsburg. The surprise of the evening was Wolfsburg defeating Real Madrid 2 - 0 on a PK from Ricardo Rodriquez in the 18th minute and Maximilian Arnold slotting home a cross from Bruno Henrique 7 minutes later. Manchester City and PSG played to a 2 - 2 tie. Zlatan had a PK saved by Joe Hart in the 14th minute, but made up for it with a goal of his own in the 41st. Kevin de Bruyne for Manchester City scored in the 38th for a brief lead.

On Paper, PSG vs. Manchester City promised to be the most well-played of the Champions League quarterfinals. In reality, it wasn't. Fun, though. After a 2-2 tie, City take an away goals advantage back to Manchester.

Champions League Round of 16 Goals - March 15, 2016

Manchester City, Dynamo Kiev, Atletico Madrid and PSV Eindhoven played their second legs in the Champions League Round of 16. With a 3-1 aggregate, Manchester City played comfortably and tied Kiev 0 - 0 at the Ethiad. While down in Madrid, Atletico and PSV played to a 0 - 0 draw. With aggregate being tied 0 - 0, extra time was needed and still not a goal was scored. The PK shootout was nerve racking as each team traded PKs. On the 8th PK for PSV, Luciano Narsingh hit the crossbar giving Atletico the chance to win with a converted PK.
