Messi's 2-goal masterclass in New Jersey overshadowed by constant pitch invaders

On Tuesday night at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey, Lionel Messi was limited to 34 minutes off the bench but again demonstrated why his form has Argentina firmly placed among the favorites in Qatar.

Messi scored twice — giving him nine goals in his last three international appearances — to continue his incredible start to 2022-23 (he has six goals and eight assists in 11 games for PSG).

The first was a 22-yard rip that skipped into the corner beyond a despairing Andre Blake in the 86th minute.

Douglas Luiz slams TV journalist for objectifying his girlfriend, soccer player Alisha Lehmann

Defensive midfielder Douglas Luiz came metaphorically studs up on social media after a famous Brazilian TV journalist shared a disrespectful post on Twitter objectifying Aston Villa Women FC star Alisha Lehmann, who is also Luiz's girlfriend.

Milton Neves, a 71-year-old presenter, tweeted a clip of Lehmann celebrating a goal a la Cristiano Ronaldo, but in slow-motion and with the camera focusing on the player's derrière. As if that wasn't bad enough, Neves captioned the sequence with the phrase: "Without rewinding the video, what number was on her shirt?"

Wow, the USMNT is really REALLY bad — three takeaways from baffling 0-0 draw with Saudi Arabia

Gregg Berhalter and his United States men’s national team are on a one-way collision course with a nasty ass kicking in Qatar at the World Cup. On Tuesday the USMNT played its final friendly before the World Cup and pathetically tied lowly Saudi Arabia 0-0.

There are few words that can accurately describe how poor the U.S. has looked in the last two friendly games vs. Japan and Saudi Arabia. With no words to summarize these poor performances let’s just let one stat in particular speak.

Messi has a new nickname - Why are his teammates calling him La Comadreja (The Weasel)?

La Pulga (The Flea), El Enano (The Dwarf), Messías (The Messiah) and The G.O.A.T are some of the nicknames people use to talk about the incomparable Lionel Messi. Quite an array of options to which we have to add one more: La Comadreja (The Weasel).

Galaxy and LAFC go for MLS attendance record with 2023 El Tráfico at the Rose Bowl

Back in March, Charlotte FC set the MLS attendance record when 74,479 showed up at Bank of America Stadium for the club's inaugural home match against LA Galaxy. Now the visitors are looking to bring the record back home with a 2023 El Tráfico of LA Galaxy vs LAFC at the Rose Bowl (capacity: 88,565).

Oh, and it's the season opener.

Christian Pulisic gets his first signature cleat and PUMA collection

If the USMNT is going to reach the knockout rounds of the World Cup, Christian Pulisic is going to have to standout in the final third. He's halfway there with a new Christian Pulisic PUMA collection ("CP Collection") that features his first-ever signature cleat and some July 4th approved apparel.
