Goalkeeper David Ochoa Claims He Is Not Allowed To Play Or Train For RSL — What's Going On?

David Ochoa — shenanigans included — was one of Real Salt Lake's best players in 2021. The goalkeeper played 25 MLS games, delivering five clean sheets, and earned a call to represent the Mexican national team after ditching his past with the USMNT.

In 2022, however, Ochoa is a ghost. He hasn't played a single match in the current MLS campaign, and several fans have wondered if he is still part of the squad.

Could This Be The MLS Assist Of The Year?

A fairly unassuming weeknight MLS match between the cellar-dwelling Chicago Fire and Toronto FC proved to be anything but on Wednesday night. Chicago took care of business at home thanks to a pair of goals by 18-year-old Colombian Jhon Durán, the second of which has garnered much attention thanks to a spectacular assist.

Watch: The18's Teamwork Challenge Event Presented by National Peanut Board

Imagine kicking soccer balls at an 18-foot-tall dart board, dodging giant exercise balls while dribbling through a maze of cones, a catapult launching soccer balls from 40 yards away and shooting through seemingly peanut-sized targets. Cucho Hernández broke a tie in the 83rd minute in his MLS debut and Derrick Etienne Jr. scored twice as the Columbus Crew overcame a two-goal, second-half deficit to defeat the host Chicago Fire 3-2 on Saturday.

Hernández took an outlet from Luis Díaz, who had two assists, and chipped the ball inside the left post over goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina as the Crew (6-5-7, 25 points) extended their unbeaten streak to six (3-0-3).

Wayne Rooney Could Return To D.C. United As Head Coach

D.C. United is in a bad place right now. One of Major League Soccer’s flagship clubs suffered its worst-ever defeat on Friday night, a 7-0 humbling from the Philadelphia Union to fall to 13th in the Eastern Conference with the second-lowest point total in the league. So maybe these Wayne Rooney D.C. United coach rumors aren’t such a bad idea.
