Brazil forward Neymar underwent surgery on Thursday after suffering a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and meniscus in his left knee on international duty.

The 31-year-old was forced off during Brazil's World Cup qualifier against Uruguay two weeks ago before an MRI scan confirmed the extent of his injuries.

Neymar will undergo surgery after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his left knee during a World Cup qualifier against Uruguay, Brazil's FA said, an injury that is expected to sideline the forward for several months.

The 31-year-old went down after tussling for the ball with Uruguay's Nicolas de la Cruz in the 44th minute of Brazil's 2-0 defeat on Tuesday, holding his left leg in pain and calling for medical attention as his teammates looked on anxiously.

President of Colombian club Tigres FC shot and killed after team’s home loss

The president of Colombian second division club Tigres FC, Edgar Paez, was shot dead following his team's defeat on Saturday, the club have announced.

The 63-year-old was returning home by car with his daughter after the 3-2 home loss to Atletico FC when he was killed by two men on a motorbike close to the stadium, local media reported.

His daughter escaped unharmed and authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the murder.

EFL League One side Portsmouth accomplished an amazing feat on Tuesday when the club managed to score two goals in the same minute against Barnsley.

Portsmouth managed to open the scoring and double their lead in the eighth minute. It started with a penalty kick that striker Colby Bishop converted. The penalty was scored right after the clock had ticked over to 7:01, AKA the eighth minute.

Then in the span of less than 60 seconds a celebration took place, the kickoff was taken, Portsmouth regained possession and managed to score again.

Unlucky cameraman takes a Cristiano Ronaldo free kick straight to the face

Al Nassr secured a 3-1 victory in the Saudi Pro League on Saturday with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a goal and taking out a cameraman in the process.

During the game Al Nassr were awarded a free kick just outside the box. Nearly all eyes in the stadium were on CR7 with the exception of the man operating the camera crane behind goal. 

Ronaldo’s kicked went past the wall, past the goalkeeper, past the goal and right into the face of the poor guy just trying to do his job.
