FIFA’s Response To Colombia’s 2023 Women’s World Cup Bid Angers All Of South America

Colombia's soccer chief and the head of South American football confederation CONMEBOL have written to FIFA complaining of "erroneous and discriminatory conclusions" in the assessment of the country's bid to host the 2023 Women's World Cup.

The Colombian proposal to bring the tournament to South America for the first time received the lowest score in an evaluation of three bids to host the tournament carried out by world soccer's governing body ahead of next Friday's vote.

Former Bradford City left back Tyrell Robinson has admitted in court to engaging in sexual activity with an underage girl in August of 2018 and to distributing child pornography through Snapchat. Robinson could very well be facing jail time after being bailed and sentenced to a later date.

The 22-year-old was playing for Bradford in League One when the club first suspended him back in 2018. After police announced the charges against Robinson in February of 2020, Bradford released the winger for gross misconduct.

Manchester City’s Two-Year Champions League Ban Appeal Begins In Switzerland

Manchester City will attempt to overturn their two-year UEFA ban from European football when a three-day hearing at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland begins on Monday.

European soccer's governing body UEFA ruled in February that City had committed serious breaches of Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations and failed to cooperate with its investigation, handing them a ban and a $34 million fine.

Tottenham Borrows $220 Million From Bank Of England Due To Revenue Loss

Tottenham has borrowed $220.40 million from the Bank of England to ease the financial burden due to the loss of revenue amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Premier League club said on Thursday.

The club said it estimated a revenue loss of more than $250 million for the period until June 2021 due to the loss of income from matchday revenue, third party live events and other sporting events at their stadium.

Valencia Outraged By Atalanta Manager’s Coronavirus Confession

Valencia has criticized Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini for taking charge of his side's Champions League match against the Spanish side in March despite suffering from symptoms of the novel coronavirus.

Gasperini told Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport on Sunday that he felt ill on the day before the last-16 second leg match in Valencia on March 10, which was played without spectators as northern Italy was then the epicenter of the virus in Europe.
