World Cup Predictions For The Final Match Day Of The Group Stage

How time flies when you're having fun. Thursday is the last day of the group stage, which means Groups H and G are in action! Group G is already wrapped up. England and Belgium have already advanced but will need to duke it out for the honor of winning the group (let's be honest, you don't want to win the group with the way the bracket is looking). Group H on the other hand sees Japan, Colombia and Senegal vying for the last two spots.

Why Is This The World Cup Of Set Pieces?

The 2018 World Cup has seen a ton of goals scored via a set piece. Is it enjoyable to watch? Heck yeah it is. If you are a casual fan of the World Cup, you might be asking the question — what on earth is a set piece?

Well, here’s a mini crash course guide to set pieces in soccer.

World Cup Set Pieces

A set piece happens when play needs to be restarted from either the ball going out of play for a corner kick or a throw in, and a set piece can also happen if there is a foul.

Could This Be Lionel Messi’s Last World Cup?

Lionel Messi and his Argentina side were staring down the face of elimination Tuesday against Nigeria. The game was locked at 1-1 until Marcos Rojo of all people decided to venture into the box and crash a volley home to give La Albiceleste the victory. Rojo's goal also gave us one of the best commentary calls of the World Cup, if not the best.

Mexico’s Round Of 16 Curse Just Got More Demonic: It’s Neymar, Coutinho And Brazil

The great news for Mexico is that South Korea’s shock upset of Germany kept El Tri in the tournament. The bad news is that it’s Brazil lying in wait in the Round of 16. The even worse news? That right-hand side of Mexico that just got torched by Emil Forsberg and Ludwig Augustinsson now has to stop Neymar and Philippe Coutinho. The only real news of comfort for the backtracking Miguel Layun is that Marcelo might not be there.

Costa Rica Goes Out With Heads Held High Thanks To Hilarious Own Goal

Costa Rica lost two tough matches to start the 2018 World Cup. The 2014 quarterfinalist was a few moments away from earning two draws but instead took two losses. But the Switzerland vs Costa Rica match finished 2-2, giving Los Ticos a deserved point from their stay in Russia, even if it came thanks to an odd own goal.

There's A Bar Drinking For Every Neymar Flop; They Are All Dead

There’s a bar that is giving out shots every time Neymar takes a dive. After the absurd Neymar roll against Serbia, they’re probably all dead now.

For the second straight match, Neymar has made a fool of himself. Against Costa Rica he made this horrible dive. It inspired a bar in Rio de Janeiro to offer free drinks every time Neymar falls over.

The Biggest Bloopers Of The World Cup So Far

The World Cup is full of amazing goals, skills and everything in between. But, while people may be mesmerized by Philippe Coutinho ripping a right-foot curler against Switzerland or Lionel Messi scoring an unbelievable goal against Nigeria, we can’t forget about the World Cup bloopers. The fails, the mess-ups, the times when you would just wish the ground would open up a hole and you could hide from the world.
