Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are two of the funniest actors around. From Van Wilder to Deadpool and It’s Always Sunny to Mythic Quest, these dudes know how to make people laugh. Which brings us to “Welcome To Wrexham,” a new soccer-centric docuseries on FX and Hulu that premiered this week starring Reynolds and McElhenney. What exactly is Welcome to Wrexham and who is its target audience? Having watched the first two episodes, here are my takeaways.

The Welcome to Wrexham trailer was released Wednesday ahead of the show's premiere on Aug. 24 on FX and Hulu, and I'll be damned if it isn't just a reality version of Ted Lasso. Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are working toward the same goals at Wrexham AFC as Ted at AFC Richmond, and the beautiful thing is that Reynolds and McElhenney have approached their ownership of the club with the same sort of genuine passion and engagement. Here's the synopsis.

As if November couldn’t come fast enough as the U.S. returns to the men’s World Cup for the first time in eight years, now fans have two more things to look forward to this fall: a pair of USMNT docuseries. 

A few days after Prime Video announced a series detailing the USMNT’s rivalry with Mexico, Deadline reported the existence of another USMNT docuseries in the works ahead of the 2022 World Cup, which kicks off in November.
