Leeds United in England continued their United States theme with the addition of midfielder Tyler Adams from RB Leipzig on a $24 million transfer, ESPN reported.

Alex Morgan scored her first two international goals of the year and the U.S. women's national team took the first step toward World Cup and Olympic qualifying with a 3-0 win against Haiti in San Nicolás, Mexico, on Monday.

Morgan scored in the 16th and 23rd minutes and Midge Purce added a goal in the 84th minute as the Americans improved to 8-0-0 vs. Haiti.

The wait is over! It’s been 14 years since the U.S. men’s team competed at the Olympics and that drought will end in Paris in two years because the U.S. U-20 team has qualified. The Americans defeated host Honduras 3-0 on Friday in the Concacaf U-20 Championship semifinal to secure one of the two Concacaf berths for the 2024 Olympics.

The shock underdogs Dominican Republic claimed the other Olympic spot.

American striker Jordan Pefok has confirmed a move to Bundesliga side Union Berlin, the club announced Thursday. Pefok will complete the move from Swiss side BSC Young Boys, where he won the 2021-22 Swiss Super League scoring title.

History was made on Friday when U.S. Soccer announced USWNT star Megan Rapinoe will become the first soccer player to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom. U.S. President Joe Biden will award Rapinoe, along with 16 other recipients including gymnast Simone Biles, the medal on July 7 at the White House.

Exactly halfway through the season, LAFC is far and away the best team in the league. And LAFC is only going to get better with Giorgio Chiellini and Gareth Bale set to join the club soon. During Wednesday night’s romp over FC Dallas, fans were treated to their first glimpses of Chiellini at LAFC, and coach Steve Cherundolo gushed over the Italian’s desire to improve the team. 

Brenner completed his first career MLS hat-trick in the 70th minute to help host FC Cincinnati record a 4-4 draw against New York City FC on Wednesday.

Brenner, who also scored in the 24th and 30th minutes, additionally had two apparent goals overturned by video review. He sent a brilliant back-heel kick into the net in the first half. However that was denied after officials deemed the ball crossed the end line prior to the apparent score. He also seemingly scored in the 89th minute, however officials deemed Cincinnati was offside prior to the tally.

NWSL side Angel City FC announced a completed a trade with the Orlando Pride for former USWNT forward and 2015 World Cup champion Sydney Leroux. The Leroux trade sees her move to Los Angeles following an almost five-year stint with the Pride during which she scored 16 league goals in 53 appearances.
