3 takeaways from Gregg Berhalter’s first USMNT roster back as head coach

Gregg Berhalter is back as head coach of the United States men’s national team and selected his 24-man roster for two September friendlies.

While the competition (Uzbekistan and Oman) won’t get fans all that excited, the 24 players that Berhalter selected will please most critics. In his return to the national team Berhalter pleasantly surprised USMNT supporters with a decent roster.

Milan’s commentator sounds like a proud American every time Pulisic scores and it’s hilarious

MilanTV commentator Mauro Suma is loving the arrival of Christian Pulisic to AC Milan more than anyone else. The Italian commentator has seen two Pulisic goals in two games and his reactions are the best.

Suma’s call of Pulisic’s goal vs. Torino from Saturday is about as good as it gets. The USMNT star opened the scoring in the 33rd minute to give Milan a 1-0 lead and this was Suma’s response on air.

Megan Rapinoe will retire from national team and play her final game on Sept. 24th

The United States women’s national team will bid farewell to one of its biggest stars in September as Megan Rapinoe will play her final game.

When is Rapinoe's last game for USWNT?

Rapinoe’s farewell will be a friendly match against South Africa on Sept. 24 at Soldier Field in Chicago. The game is the second of two friendlies that the USWNT will play against South Africa. Rapinoe won’t feature in the first game in Cincinnati on Sept. 21.

Watching Messi's latest goal in slow motion is the most satisfying thing ever

Lionel Messi entered as a substitute in the 60th minute and scored his first MLS goal in spectacular fashion in the 89th to seal Inter Miami's 2-0 win over the host New York Red Bulls in front of a raucous crowd in Harrison, N.J., on Saturday night. And, boy, was this Messi MLS debut goal a doozy.

Brenden Aaronson gets sent off for time wasting… in the 21st minute

Brenden Aaronson was given a red card in bizarre fashion on Saturday during Union Berlin’s 4-1 victory vs. Darmstadt.

In his second Bundesliga start with Union Berlin he had a nightmare of a day. It started off rough as he received a yellow card in the first five minutes for a high boot.

This card was debatable for being so early in the game but not too controversial.

Aaronson’s second yellow card was truly strange as the referee sent him off in the 21st minute for kicking the ball away after play was stopped.

Christian Pulisic does it again and scores his second goal in two games for AC Milan

Christian Pulisic is off to a fantastic start to his new life in Milan as he scored his second Serie A goal on Saturday during AC Milan’s 4-1 victory vs. Torino.

Pulisic opened the scoring in the 33rd minute. Milan struck on a quick attack with Pulisic slipping the ball through to his former Chelsea teammate Ruben Loftus-Cheek. The Milan midfielder did a great job to get by his defender and then put it on a plate for Pulisic.

Matt Turner adds another highlight reel save to his resume with great stop vs. Manchester United

United States men’s national team goalkeeper Matt Turner had a solid game in goal for Nottingham Forest on Saturday vs. Manchester United despite his side losing 3-2.

Turner didn’t have it easy at Old Trafford as he made seven saves during the game. The American keeper’s best moment came in the 54th minute when Antony curled a beautiful shot on goal and Turner made a full-stretch save to deny the goal.

Lionel Messi set to make his MLS debut in New York on Saturday vs. Red Bulls

Ticket prices are soaring in Harrison, N.J., and not because the New York Red Bulls are inching closer in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

With Lionel Messi on the other side of the pitch for his anticipated MLS regular-season debut with Inter Miami, the host Red Bulls are out to keep their focus and improve their place in the standings Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Messi won a club-record 34 trophies for Barcelona in Spain's LaLiga, and already has a Leagues Cup title with Inter Miami, though it is possible that the 36-year-old could enter as a substitute Saturday.
