Deodorant Ad Says Tampa Bay Kicker Stinks, Should Be Replaced By Carli Lloyd

Carli Lloyd should replace Matt Gay as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicker after the NFL rookie stunk up the field with some foul kicks in last week’s loss to the New York Giants. At least, that’s what Secret deodorant is suggesting with a Carli Lloyd NFL ad in a local newspaper this week.

Messi Claims Record 6th FIFA Men's Player Award While Megan Rapinoe Wins Women's Prize

The Best FIFA Football Awards 2019 went down in Milan today, and you can rest assured that The18 tried its best to watch on YouTube, but good lord, this stuff is mostly unwatchable. It's remarkably drawn out, full of self-aggrandizing nonsense from FIFA and the forced banter between hosts Ilaria D'Amico, Ruud Gullit and the guests makes you search for the mute button while your skin crawls.

But other than that it's pretty good!

Let’s go to the green carpet for some select photos before the ceremony. Here’s Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe looking fly.

Watch Corinthians Women Score The Best Team Goal Of The Season

The Brazilian women’s national team, while still dominant in South America, has fallen from among the elite on the global stage, passed up by European and Asian challengers. The 2007 Women’s World Cup and 2004/2008 Olympics runner-up needs a new crop of players to replace the aging Marta, Formiga and Cristiane.

The Canarinhas may want to look at Corinthians Paulista for the next group of stars.

Alex Morgan Out For Rest Of NWSL Season With Knee Injury

The Orlando Pride will be without star forward Alex Morgan for the remainder of the NWSL season. The Pride are currently in last place with only 14 points from 21 games and an overall record of four wins, two draws and 15 defeats.

North Carolina Courage Honor The Stellar Career Of Heather O’Reilly

The North Carolina Courage celebrated the accomplishments of Heather O'Reilly as she will be hanging up her boots at the end of the 2019 NWSL season.

Goalkeeper Celebrates Full-Time Whistle With Punt That Goes Horribly Wrong

I know of no greater natural human curiosity than the one that demands we discover the ball’s final resting place. One of our most beloved sports, golf, is entirely based on this premise. So when a ball actually exits the field of play, the novelty of it all can lead to some of the greatest moments in all of sports.

But sometimes, you don’t want to know the end. Because how can the end be happy when so much random chance is involved?

Donald Trump Joins USWNT Equal Pay Discussions With Gianni Infantino

Donald Trump has become the latest figure to join in on the debate surrounding equal pay for the U.S. women’s national team. Sort of. We think.

The four-time Women’s World Cup champion USWNT is in the middle of a legal battle with U.S. Soccer over equal treatment to the USMNT, which wasn’t even able to qualify for the last World Cup. President Trump received a visit from FIFA president Gianni Infantino on Monday and the two discussed women’s soccer.

Infantino was in D.C. to discuss preparations for the 2026 World Cup, which the U.S. will co-host with Mexico and Canada.

Record-Setting Attendance Of Over 31,000 Watches First-Ever WSL Manchester Derby

With men’s club soccer on hiatus due to the international break, the women’s game took center stage in England this weekend with the opening of the new Women’s Super League season. The marquee matchup was a first-ever WSL Manchester derby between City and United at the Etihad Stadium.

The previous attendance record for a WSL match was set by Arsenal last year with a crowd of 5,265; the crowd on hand yesterday in Manchester smashed that with a total of 31,213 spectators.

And they left happy thanks to an incredible strike from Scotland international Caroline Weir.

USWNT Legend Heather O’Reilly Named UNC Women’s Soccer Assistant Coach

Last week, one of the greatest players in University of North Carolina and USWNT history announced that she’s returning to her old stomping grounds. This time, Heather O’Reilly will be telling others to “get on the line.”

O’Reilly is joining the UNC women’s soccer team alongside Anson Dorrance as the assistant coach. Dorrance’s introduction of O’Reilly truly explained her importance to both the UNC squad and the USWNT — along with, of course, calling her out for mistakes.
