Rumors of slow subscription growth for MLS Season Pass make sense, but Apple won't care (yet)

If the most sensational rumors are to be believed, Apple is looking for a quick exit from its 10-year, $2.5 billion deal with MLS while the league prepares for an NASL kind of collapse into oblivion.

The Athletic previously detailed an opt-out clause in the contract predicated on Apple obtaining a certain number of subscribers within a set timeframe, but it's impossible to speculate from the outside since Apple hasn't released any viewership statistics through six matchweeks.

I think Messi's going to Miami after watching Lyon beat a soulless PSG

There was an interesting moment during Saturday's MLS 360 show when analyst Shep Messing said he had "inside info" on a Lionel Messi move to MLS and that "it is going to happen and it's going to happen soon."

Like any great amateur sleuth, I then carefully watched PSG's home match against Lyon on Sunday looking for clues. I think I found them: Messi wants to get out of Paris like a bat out of hell.

Ref savagely knees Liga MX player between the legs

Club América and León played the wildest Liga MX game in this Clausura 2023 on Saturday. It was a riveting 2-2 draw that ended up with both coaches promising to punch each other in the dressing rooms. But while one of them finished the game with his shirt ripped, no punches were thrown at the end.

Lindsey Horan and Lyon left stunned by BS call, PK defeat to Chelsea

Lyon, the defending champions, have been knocked out of the UEFA Women's Champions League at the quarterfinal stage no thanks to an incredibly soft VAR-assisted penalty decision at 120+8' that gave undeserved life to Chelsea.

After taking a 1-0 lead in France last week thanks to Guro Reiten's lone goal, Chelsea did what they largely always do under Emma Hayes in the Champions League by disappointing for 90 minutes.

The new Philippines kits for the men’s national team are a work of art, literally. Created by design studio and TikTok sensation JerseyBird, the Philippines men’s national team are wearing some of the best-looking kits in the world.

Before getting the new kits, the Philippine Football Federation had a deal with Spanish sportswear company Kelme. That deal expired in January.

Halftime band during Argentina match just keeps playing despite start of second 45

Argentina palooza continued Tuesday night as the world champions put on an exhibition against CONCACAF minnows Curaçao at the Madre de Ciudades in Santiago del Estero. Captain Lionel Messi had a hat trick in the first 37 minutes, bringing his international tally to 102, as La Albiceleste put seven past the Columbus Crew's Eloy Room.

It was an honor and a privilege.

Portuguese forward João Félix surprised fans a few days ago when he polled his followers via Instagram Stories about a possible group chat where they could talk directly with each other. The response was overwhelmingly positive and within an hour, the 23-year-old posted a second story with a link for fans to follow.

NWSL players in disbelief over how bad some of their FIFA 23 characters look

The National Women’s Soccer League getting added to EA Sports’ FIFA video game series felt too good to be true. The long overdue addition of the American league to the game took place on March 15.

It’s been a week since the update and players aren’t thrilled about how poorly they look in the game. Several players have taken to Twitter to show off just how bad the animations turned out.

The issues range from some player appearing much whiter in the game than in real life to being bald. Yikes EA.

Oh no, here comes the neighbor on his scooter with a noise complaint

Just when you think you've seen it all on the football pitch, your neighbor comes puttering along on his scooter, bringing the match to a standstill, to complain about all the matchday malarkey that's frightening his horses.

Now you've really seen it all.
