Johan Cruyff died today at the age of 68 after a prolonged battle with cancer. He was the kind of man whom you mentioned in the same breath as words like legend, revolutionary, and inspirational. You did so casually, because that’s how closely related to greatness he was. He was the embodiment of what any person with ambition, a dream, a struggle strives to be, the greatest version of himself.

GOALKEEPER GOAL, EVERYBODY. This one comes out of the Danish Superliga and by netminder Steffen Rasmussen of the club AGF Aarhus (real name Aarhus Gymnastikforening). Times were tough as AGF were trailing AaB Fodbold late in the match. But luckily 6 mintues of added time gave Rasmussen the opportunity to create greatness. In the 4th minute of added time, the Stenvad, Denmark native left his post in goal to particpate in a last gasp effort for AGF. And what do you know, the 33-year-old gets left completely unmarked and heads home the equalizer!

English comedian Eddie Izzard has accomplished a stunning feat of endurance the likes of which few athlete can match. In 27 days the 54-year-old Izzard ran 27 marathons in order to raise awareness for Sport Relief, a biennial charity event ran in association with Comic Relief and BBC Sport. On his last day he ran a staggering 54 miles in order to make sure he hit his distance mark for the challenge.
