Funniest Miss Ever? 3-On-0 Ends In Catastrophe In Women’s Champions League

If you come at Barcelona in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, you best not miss. On Wednesday night, Lithuanian side Gintra Universitetas attempted to come at Barcelona in the Round of 16 and they missed. Horrendously.

Barcelona were already leading 3-0 when the home team hilariously failed to convert a 3-on-0, and the Catalan side would go on to win 6-0 in the first leg. The return leg, scheduled for November 15 in Barcelona, is now something of a formality.

There’s A Brilliant New Number 10 Rising Through Barcelona’s La Masia

Alex Collado, born in the city of Sabadell in Catalonia (the birthplace of Sergio Busquets), joined La Masia back in 2011 as a 12-year-old. The central midfielder has since risen through the club’s youth ranks, appearing for Barca’s Juvenil A (the premier U-19 side and the final stage of progression at La Masia) throughout the 2016-17 season as a 17-year-old.

Collado played a vital role in Barca’s run to the semifinals of last year's UEFA Youth League, which culminated in a 2-1 defeat to eventual champions Red Bull Salzburg.

From Nikes To An Adidas Lifetime Contract: The Evolution Of Lionel Messi's Boots

Over the course of nearly 15 years, Lionel Messi has come to symbolize the Adidas brand in the world of football. Since signing with the sportswear giant back in 2005, the Argentinian wizard has since put pen to paper on a lifetime deal with the company. In between, 2011 saw the revealing of his own brand crest, the superhero-like “M” which has adorned his boots ever since.

Let’s track the evolution of Messi’s cleats from his debut in 2004, back when he was rocking Nikes, to the present day.

It’s That Man Messi Again For Barcelona

Barcelona maintained their four-point lead atop La Liga following a 2-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao at the San Mames. Lionel Messi scored the first for Barcelona, his 12th of the 10-game La Liga season, in the 36th minute. Paulinho added the second in the 92nd to ensure the three points for Barca.

Remarkably, that’s Paulinho’s third goal of the season for the club, moving him level with Luis Suarez in league play as Barca’s second highest scorer. With Messi in the kind of form he’s currently in, the club hasn’t had any real need for additional marksmen.
