Why UEFA Has Decided To Royally Screw Over Arsenal Opponent Vitória De Guimarães

The Europa League schedule was released Friday not long after the group-stage draw. One club, an opponent of Arsenal in Group F, will feel particularly aggrieved when looking at the fixture list, and not because it has to play the Gunners.

Chris Smalling's Loan To Roma Is A Blessing For Manchester United

Ole Gunnar Solskjær is finally getting his wish of getting the “deadwood” out of Manchester United. The Red Devils had a few high profile players leave the club this summer, with both Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku going to Inter, Ander Herrera going to PSG and Antonio Valencia returning to Ecuador to finish his career. Matteo Darmian looks set to leave as well, returning to Italy. Now that Harry Maguire is in the team and Axel Tuanzebe is staying with the club after his loan at Aston Villa, United has a ton of defenders available.

Tottenham's Recent Form In The Premier League Is Horrible And Fans Should Be Concerned

Manchester United’s shock loss at Old Trafford to Crystal Palace wasn’t the only slipup in the Premier League this past weekend.

Newcastle United was looking to not lose its third straight match in the Premier League as the Magpies traveled to Tottenham on Sunday.Steve Bruce’s side was set up in a back three, set up to counter Spurs’ possession-based system and it worked. Joelinton scored in the first half and Newcastle held Tottenham at bay for the rest of the match.

We Must Appreciate David Silva While We Still Can

It was almost a decade ago that David Silva was on the verge of making his way to Real Madrid from Valencia. Real president Florentino Perez went straight to the tunnel after a match between his side and Valencia, looking to speak with the player and likely drop a not-so-casual hint the Spanish playmaker should make the move to the capital in the upcoming window. In the end, he made the move to the blue side of Manchester, coached by Roberto Mancini, and boy did that turn out to be one heck of a move for City.

Wolves Fans Give Patrick Cutrone World's Strangest Chant

Liverpool defeated Arsenal 3-1 in an early first-vs.-second Premier League battle on Saturday at Anfield. The final result wasn’t really a surprise for anyone who has paid attention to the Premier League the last few years, even if the Gunners had looked improved in their first two matches of the season.

But Arsenal did manage to end one of the most impressive stats in the Premier League.

Goalkeeping Errors And Missed PKs: Man Utd Frustrates Again

Manchester United had, perhaps, the most impressive opening weekend of any Premier League club, routing Chelsea 4-0. Since then, it’s been one frustration after another.

The Red Devils were held to a draw on Monday after Paul Pogba missed a penalty kick. On Saturday, United again missed a penalty and David De Gea made another baffling mistake as Crystal Palace beat Manchester United in the top flight for the first time since 1991.

Juan Mata Says Players Shouldn’t Stick To Football, Praises Megan Rapinoe

Should footballers stick to soccer or should they use their platform to promote their beliefs? Would your answer be different if the footballer was trying to promote a particular religion, clothing line or political view, or if those beliefs differ from your own? How about speaking up for social issues? Where do you draw the line?

Juan Mata, for one, doesn’t think an athlete should be pigeonholed into only talking about his or her sport.

Taylor Twellman Questions Wayne Rooney’s Commitment After Boneheaded Red Card

With last night’s 2-1 defeat to the New York Red Bulls at Audi Field, D.C. United’s chances of hosting a Conference Quarterfinal playoff game took a massive blow. The Red Bulls leapfrogged United in fourth place in the Eastern Conference with the victory, and any chance of a United win was effectively damned by Wayne Rooney’s straight red card in the 24th minute.

The privacy of some fans in England was at stake for fans in England this year in the Premier League. Manchester City was set to trial facial-recognition software in collaboration with Blink Identity, but the club said Tuesday it would not bring the technology to Etihad Stadium. Brondby had already introduced the technology and City was set to follow before a wave of backlash.
