Kevin De Bruyne tells team to not thank Belgium fans after receiving boos from crowd

FREIBURG — Belgian fans went too far with their angry reaction to the team’s draw against Ukraine in the European Championship, veteran defender Thomas Meunier said on Thursday.

Supporters booed and whistled their side after a dour 0-0 stalemate that set up a last-16 clash with France, and more derision rained down when captain Kevin De Bruyne was announced as the man of the match.

Euro underdogs Georgia stun Portugal to qualify for Round of 16

GELSENKIRCHEN — Georgia stunned Portugal to reach the knockouts at Euro 2024 - their first ever major tournament - with a 2-0 win over the former European champions on Wednesday, settled by an early Khvicha Kvaratskhelia strike and a Georges Mikautadze penalty.

The win, albeit against a largely second-string Portugal who had already made it into the next round, represented the greatest result for Georgia since the country gained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.

I’ve had enough — Geico’s 'timeout for nacho-tots' is the worst soccer commercial I’ve ever seen

After watching the torturous 0-0 draw between England and Slovenia I’ve come away with one conclusion: the Geico soccer commercial is going to drive me insane.

We’re a week and-a-half into the Euros and during every game I’m forced to watch the most annoying Geico soccer commercial. If I have to hear, “timeout for nacho-tots” one more time there will be a god damn hole in my wall.

It seems Geico know how utterly dogshit their commercial is as it’s not available anywhere on the internet.

France finish group stage without any French players scoring a goal from open play

DORTMUND — A Kylian Mbappé penalty was canceled out by Robert Lewandowski's spot kick as already-eliminated Poland held France to a 1-1 draw in Dortmund on Tuesday, meaning the French finish second in Group D.

Mbappé broke the deadlock in the 56th minute with his first European Championship goal – and the first scored by a French player at Euro 2024 – when he calmly slotted home a penalty given for Jakub Kiwior's clumsy challenge on Ousmane Dembele.

Watch: Cristiano Ronaldo selflessly assists Bruno Fernandes despite Euro record beckoning

Cristiano Ronaldo could’ve made history as the first player to score in six different European Championships during Portugal’s 3-0 victory vs. Turkey on Saturday. Instead, he chose the selfless option to set up Bruno Fernandes.

With Portugal leading 2-0 early in the second half, Turkey’s defense broke down and Ronaldo was one-on-one with the goalkeeper. CR7 already has the title of first player to feature in six different Euros. He could now do the unimaginable and be the first player to score in six Euros.

Denmark score sensational goal against lackluster England to earn big point in 1-1 draw

A long-range Denmark goal vs England is the new candidate for goal of Euro 2024 as the Danes earned a 1-1 draw against a disappointing Three Lions side on Thursday.

Morten Hjulmand put his name up in lights after a careless giveaway from Harry Kane led to the 24-year-old defensive midfielder ripping a shot from distance. What a goal.
