Nike’s Living Room Cup Taught The Small Of My Spine A Lesson It’ll Never Forget

If you’re like me, this past month has been so goddamn awful for your fitness that you can only refuse to acknowledge anything. Without rec soccer and the gym, I’m half-man, half-beer.

A few days ago I forced myself out on a run after being deeply troubled by an inner voice saying my time for running was now over — everything was just too exceedingly difficult to even contemplate doing, so don’t do it. That’s my mind without exercise. It’s a real bastard.

You Are Not Ready For These Freaky Soccer Cat Photos

There has been a near world-wide moratorium on the playing of soccer in recent weeks because of the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pandemic. The last few weeks have been particularly devastating for football fans around the globe who have nothing to watch on weekends, forcing them to interact with family members with whom they forgot they lived. But out of hardship comes art, and thus we have found a treasure trove of soccer cat stock photos.

Cat Playing Goalkeeper Will Be The Best 57 Seconds Of Your Day

If your day has been lackluster or generally uneventful, the following 57 seconds will make everything better. We’ve seen cats play other roles on the pitch, we’ve even seen fish play soccer, but how many times have you seen a cat playing goalkeeper?

Children Recreate The Most Iconic Goals Of All-Time From Their Backyard

Former MK Dons player Sean O’Hanlon and his two sons are having plenty of fun remastering some of football’s most iconic goals during the shutdown. O’Hanlon tweeted out a video of his boys recreating the best goals of the century.

Atleti Striker Llorente Rubs Salt In Liverpool Wounds By Renaming Dog Anfield

It appears as though scoring two goals to knock Liverpool out of the Champions League was not enough for Marcos Llorente. The Atlético Madrid striker had to add insult to injury.

Llorente recently posted a picture to his Instagram stories of one of his pugs, which it looks as though he has renamed Anfield after the site of his destruction of Liverpudlian hopes of a repeat European championship.

Former Footballer Runs Marathon In Tiny Backyard, Raises $25K For National Health Service

It began simply enough. On Monday, former javelin thrower and Cheltenham Town youth footballer James Campbell — bored inside his house — sent out a simple photo of his modest backyard along with a promise that he’d run a marathon in it if he could get 10K retweets.

Netflix’s New ‘First Team: Atomic Pineapples’ Will Redefine Soccer Documentaries

Hilarious Assistant Referee Keeps Himself And Flag In Top Form

Tanzanian assistant referee Frank Komba isn’t letting anything come between himself and his linesman duties. Komba — like most of us — is stuck inside his home and unable to officiate any matches. When games resume, he won’t be at all rusty thanks to his at-home training.

Becky Sauerbrunn Held Nothing Back During Her Twitter Takeover

The 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup quarterfinal aired again on March 28 so we could relive the excitement of the USWNT’s run. Becky Sauerbrunn joined in on @FoxSoccer to answer questions on Twitter, and she did not hold anything back about her teammates. Here are some of my faves:

Ali Krieger And Ashlyn Harris Go Hard At Everything, Including Quarantining

Ali Krieger and Ashlyn Harris are making the most of staying inside during quarantine without any soccer. Krieger overestimated her goalkeeper abilities as she attempted Harris’ hand-eye coordination training. After Krieger’s attempt, she credited goalkeepers and admitted it was not easy whatsoever.

Whereas her partner Harris effortlessly caught every single ping pong ball, Krieger, despite being very concentrated, well, she did the best she could. This is the kind of entertaining content the world needs.
