Video: Christian Pulisic comes off the bench and bags brilliant last-minute goal for AC Milan

Christian Pulisic tallied yet another set of goal contributions for AC Milan in the Rossoneri’s away defeat against Monza in the Serie A on Sunday.

The American started the game on the bench for the first time in a league match since Oct. 7 but was substituted onto the pitch at the start of the second half after Milan conceded two goals just before the break.

Unfortunately for Pulisic and his efforts to turn the game around for the club, Milan went down to 10 men after Luka Jović received a red card just seven minutes into the restart.

MANCHESTER — Erling Haaland pushed aside a television camera after the final whistle on Saturday, his frustration spilling over after he took nine shots but scored no goals for the first time in his Manchester City career.

Rodri netted a late equalizer to salvage a 1-1 Premier League home draw for the champions against Chelsea as they avoided their first loss at the Etihad in 15 months.

Brenden Aaronson scores late winner for Union Berlin to open his Bundesliga account

United States men’s national team forward Brenden Aaronson scored an 84th minute winner for Union Berlin in a 1-0 victory vs. Hoffenheim on Saturday.

The goal will come as a massive sigh of relief for Aaronson who was on a tremendously long goal drought. The last time the 23-year-old forward had scored for a club was August 2022 against Chelsea while playing with Leeds.

Aaronson is on loan with Union Berlin and has only started five Bundesliga games this season. The American is typically used as a late substitute.

Arsenal netted three first-half goals in a 3-1 victory over Manchester United in front of a record Women's Super League crowd of 60,160 on Saturday that keeps them in the race for the title after Chelsea's 1-0 loss to Manchester City.

Chelsea remain top of the table, level on 34 points with Manchester City following their loss to them on Friday night, and a sold-out Emirates Stadium saw the Gunners close the gap to the top two to three points after an easy win over United.

Lionel Messi has scored pretty much every goal in the book… besides one he keeps attempting with Inter Miami.

Inter Miami faced off against Lionel Messi’s boyhood Argentinian club, Newell’s Old Boys, in the MLS team’s last preseason match held at DRV Pink Stadium this Thursday. Miami coach Gerardo Martino also played and managed Newell’s in the past.

The match, with a handful of highlights, ended in a 1-1 draw, sending Inter Miami off into the 2024 MLS Season for their debut against Real Salt Lake at home on Feb. 21.

COPENHAGEN — Manchester City survived a scare to beat FC Copenhagen 3-1 in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie at the Parken Stadium on Tuesday, with Phil Foden scoring late to ensure a two-goal cushion ahead of the second leg.

With the Danes still on their winter break, City dominated the opening exchanges and they took the lead in the 10th minute when Kevin De Bruyne scored with a brilliant first-time finish across the keeper and in at the far post.

After burying the penalty, the Qatari star reached into his shin guard and pulled out a trading card of himself. Then with one quick movement and some sleight of hand Afif switched the card to reveal the letter “S”.

Leverkusen smash Bayern 3-0 to keep undefeated season alive and open five-point gap

LEVERKUSEN — Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen outplayed champions Bayern Munich for a 3-0 victory on Saturday that sent them five points clear at the top of the league and put them firmly in charge of the title race.

Goals from Josip Stanisic, Alejandro Grimaldo and Jeremie Frimpong made sure of the three points as Leverkusen, who have never won a Bundesliga title, and stretched their unbeaten run to 31 matches across all competitions this season.

BOUAKE — Three-time winners Nigeria were given a scare but reached the Africa Cup of Nations final after goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali saved two penalties in the shootout to guide his side to a 4-2 victory over South Africa following a 1-1 draw on Wednesday.

William Troost-Ekong put Nigeria into the lead from the penalty spot midway through the second half, before South Africa earned a spot-kick of their own in the final minute of the 90 and it was converted by Teboho Mokoena.
