Pachuca like Pokemon. A lot.
What could have caused this obsession? Our working theory is "Pachuca" would be a great name for a Pokemon (other soccer clubs with great Pokemon names: Cobresal, Gremio, Melgar, Carmelita and Xelaju) and they just ran with it.

Cuauhtemoc Blanco is one of the best players in the history of both Club America and the Mexico national team. Blanco, who retired last year to run for mayor in his adopted hometown of Cuernavaca, Mexico (he won), put on the yellow Club America jersey one last time, appearing before the Club America faithful in Estadio Azteca wearing the number 100.
You could tell how much this meant to Blanco, the fans and his teammates, who relentlessly tried to give Blanco the ball in scoring position and send El Temo off in style. It almost worked. Almost.
Bayer Leverkusen and Mexico striker Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez's departure from his previous club Manchester United was, um, acrimonious.
Current United manager Louis van Gaal clearly didn't want Hernandez in the squad and told him there was very little chance of him playing striker for United. Hernendez was sent to Germany, where he has lit the world on fire (23 goals so far this season in all competitions).
Los Angeles Galaxy forward Robbie Keane has seen enough over his four years of play in North America to declare MLS on par with Liga MX. A bullish Keane declared that Liga MX was stagnating in the face of MLS growth, a bold claim to make prior to Tuesday’s second leg fixture between the Galaxy and Santos Laguna of Liga MX.
