New Netherlands manager Frank de Boer will have a tough job over the next fortnight trying to convince the doubters he is the right man to lead the national team after Ronald Koeman.

De Boer, 50, took over last month from Koeman, who left to join Barcelona, and will make his debut on Wednesday when the Dutch host Mexico in a friendly followed by two Nations League games away to Bosnia on Sunday and Italy three days later.

Richie Laryea and Sophie Schmidt made history by becoming the first Canadians ever to simultaneously win MLS and NWSL Player of the Week honors. Laryea was named MLS Player of the Week after he tallied one goal and two assists for Toronto FC. Beckham’s Inter Miami Signs Former Real Madrid, Juve Striker

Inter Miami have signed Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain on a free transfer after he left Italian champions Juventus, the Major League Soccer (MLS) club announced on Friday.

Higuain, 32, will join the MLS side owned by David Beckham as a designated player, joining compatriot Matias Pellegrini and Mexican midfielder Rodolfo Pizarro as the team's highest-paid squad members.

Expansion MLS Club St. Louis City Is Absolutely Crushing It In Ticket Deposits

Expansion franchise St. Louis City SC announced Thursday that they set MLS records for most season-ticket deposits in the first 15 minutes and over a 24-hour period after beginning to accept deposits on Wednesday.

The team said 30,000 fans put down deposits in the first 15 minutes and 50,000 did overall during the 24-hour period. St. Louis City will begin play in 2023.

Austin FC, which will start play in 2021, set the previous mark of 30,000 deposits over a 24-hour period in 2019.
