Preposterous Portland Timbers Bicycle Kick Wasn’t Even The Best Goal From Wednesday’s MLS Action

An incredible Portland Timbers bicycle kick goal from Dairon Asprilla rocked Providence Park on Wednesday night as his side defeated San Jose 2-0.

Asprilla’s goal instantly went viral. A bicycle kick from outside of the penalty box is a rarity in soccer and quickly was featured on SportsCenter’s Top 10 plays.

Ahead Of Final USWNT Match, Carli Lloyd Haters Took Over The #ThankYouCarli Hashtag

What’s the appropriate way to send off a player who has reached heights few before her have achieved? As Carli Lloyd prepares for her final USWNT match, everyone from her male and female U.S. Soccer counterparts to Tom Brady has weighed in on the legendary player. But is it too much? Some people certainly think so, given her uncomfortable, often undiscussed stances on certain off-the-field issues.

Should Referees Give Post-Match Interviews? Italy Is Seriously Considering It

Last week, Arsène Wenger — now FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development — told a refereeing convention in France that refs should give post-match press conferences.

“It would be a good way to avoid controversy and shut them down before they became a public debate,” Wenger said. “We would have to get the support of referees, and I don’t know what kind of state of mind they’re in after games to be able to give an opinion.”

Money-Making Farewells Are Stagnating An Already Stale USWNT

On Thursday night, the USWNT bossed South Korea around the pitch but couldn’t find a way through to score. The 0-0 draw ended a 22-game home winning streak that dated back to another draw with South Korea in 2019.

Portsmouth Supporters’ Hilarious Chant Is Proof American Fans Will Never Be Equal To British Fans

A video of English soccer fans chanting during a League One match has gone viral. Portsmouth fans didn’t have much to cheer about as they watched their side fall 4-0 to Ipswich Town on Tuesday. The Portsmouth fans’ chant during the game was clearly the highlight of the match.

To brighten the mood, the Portsmouth fans kept vocal note on if their team had the ball or if they lost the ball. Add a drum and a couple hundred English voices and you have yourself a legendary video.

FIFA Has Some Really Bad Ideas For A Biennial World Cup, But This Is The Worst Yet

Have you ever been involved in a big brainstorm where all the ideas were utter trash and you thought: “Well, at least this is just the idea stage, otherwise we’d be fucked.” That’s essentially what is happening over at FIFA lately as they brainstorm in public the most godawful ideas you’ve ever heard for a biennial World Cup. None of these ideas should even leave the whiteboard, and yet here we are discussing them openly, fearing they might actually come to fruition, including a newly proposed idea that is just about the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.

10 Ted Lasso Spinoffs We’d Love To Watch

Now that Season 2 of “Ted Lasso” has come to a close, fans of the series may be dismayed to learn Apple TV+ only plans to produce one more season of the beloved series. This time next year we could be mourning the end of Ted Lasso’s story at AFC Richmond. Given the success of the series — and the dearth of other programming on Apple TV+ — I wouldn’t be surprised if the series produces a Ted Lasso spinoff or two.

Salah Is Making A Serious Case For Best Player In The World Right Now With Another Brilliant Goal

Is Salah the best player in the world right now? Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says that he thinks that’s the case as Salah put on another magical performance during his side’s 5-0 victory against Watford on Saturday.

Fans Of A World Cup Every 2 Years Are The Worst — Here’s How They Rank With Other Annoying People

Talks over a World Cup taking place every two years continue to heat up. Former Arsenal manager and current FIFA Chief of Global Football Development Arsene Wenger insisted that a biennial World Cup isn’t a money grab.

His critics disagree.

I Finally Tried eFootball — Please Don’t Make The Same Mistake

I’ll admit, I was curious. With PES fully rebranding to eFootball and going free to play — something I’ve long thought FIFA should do — I was willing to give the franchise another shot. And yet, I cannot even recommend downloading this janky game right now.
