Let’s be honest, Arsenal fans have had a tough decade. After achieving unprecedented success in Arsène Wenger’s early years, the club fell from one of Europe’s elite to merely content to play in the Champions League to completely failing to qualify for any European competitions. 

In the 2021-22 season, Arsenal supporters were taken on the wildest of rollercoaster rides; the first season without European football in a quarter century was met with incredible highs and stupefying lows. 

There’s a new bundle in the streaming world, and it might be one of the best deals yet. Paramount+ and Walmart+ are joining forces to make it more affordable to watch the Champions League, NWSL and Serie A, among other soccer and non-soccer offerings on CBS’s streaming platform.

I just found out the Game of Thrones prequel, “House of the Dragon,” premieres this weekend as HBO looks to capitalize on its one good show of the last decade by making a spinoff series. That got me thinking: Is there any soccer in it? 

Lately, most of my TV viewing has been soccer related. The European leagues are now in full swing, the U-20 Women’s World Cup is taking place in Costa Rica and I’ve been devouring “All Or Nothing: Arsenal.” 

As if November couldn’t come fast enough as the U.S. returns to the men’s World Cup for the first time in eight years, now fans have two more things to look forward to this fall: a pair of USMNT docuseries. 

A few days after Prime Video announced a series detailing the USMNT’s rivalry with Mexico, Deadline reported the existence of another USMNT docuseries in the works ahead of the 2022 World Cup, which kicks off in November. 

English football is known for oddly named teams: Nottingham Forest, Accrington Stanley, Leyton Orient. Yet even with these curious labels, there is one commonality between these clubs — they are named after neighborhoods or towns. 

In fact, only one EFL side is not named after a place — League One side Port Vale, whose title represents the valley of ports on the Trent and Mersey Canal.

But one club seems to reject all logic with its name: Crystal Palace. London has a region known as Crystal Palace, but the title is only as old as the football club itself.
