We’re going to be real here: Unless you live in Minnesota and are tuned in to the youth soccer scene, you probably don’t pay any attention to Minnesota high school soccer.

Fortunately, we here at The18 have eyes on every soccer game everywhere (seriously, when you’re playing your little brother in the back yard, we’re watching; it’s creepy). 

So today we get to bring you a stunning highlight from the Minnesota high school soccer Class A championship game — and with good reason.

A look at five games this weekend that should provide excellent drama both in the U.S. and in Europe. We're focusing on the best soccer on TV this weekend.

MLS and USL are in the midst of the 2018 playoffs, while the Premier League has another Top 6 clash to highlight its Saturday lineup. Meanwhile, the train wreck that is Real Madrid at the moment gets to find out how the team responds after dismissing coach Julen Lopetegui.

Best Soccer On TV This Weekend

1. USL Semi-Finals: Louisville City vs. New York Red Bulls 2

The MLS playoffs began Wednesday, on Halloween. Crowds were pretty pathetic. 

With the second pair of MLS Knockout Round matches on Thursday, attendance at Audi Field in Washington, D.C., and Banc of California Stadium in LA was just what you wanted it to be, with stadiums full of rowdy — perhaps too rowdy in LA. 

The MLS Cup Playoffs kicked off last night with matches at Toyota Stadium in Frisco and Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, and the attendance numbers were not good. It was, of course, Halloween night, which ruled out anyone with a kid, anyone attending a monster mash and anyone hellbent on finishing The Haunting of Hill House. 

New York City FC defeated the Philadelphia Union 3-1 to advance to the MLS Conference Semifinals on Wednesday in the Bronx. On its face, it was a comprehensive victory, with the Union’s lone goal coming far too late in the 83rd minute. But one shocking no-call in the first half absolutely had an impact on the game, and MLS is being a bit tone-deaf in the aftermath. 

Borussia Dortmund is through to the DFB-Pokal Round of 16 after defeating second-division side Union Berlin 3-2 Wednesday. 20-year-old American Christian Pulisic scored the opener, assisted on Max Philipp’s second and then earned the penalty that Marco Reus converted for Dortmund’s third. 

We can only speak for ourselves here at The18, but we’d grown a little terrified of late, and we’re not talking about the culmination of binging The Haunting of Hill House ’til Halloween night.

Did you get your tickets for the Women’s World Cup semifinals and final in France? If not, you might be out of luck. Women's World Cup ticket sales have been through the roof, with the pack including the semifinals and final having already sold out shortly after going on sale.

The Stanford Cardinal women’s soccer program is at it again. The defending NCAA College Cup champion is the No. 1-ranked team in the land with an undefeated record of 15 wins and two ties. The Cardinal defeated No. 15 Colorado 7-0 on Oct. 21, and the side features the likes of Tierna Davidson (she’s been capped 12 times by the USWNT at the age of 20), 2017 Pac-12 All-Conference First Team selection Alana Cook and 2017 ESPNW Player of the Year Catarina Macario.
