Serious question: what's so super about the MLS Superdraft, relative to other drafts? Oh, nothing? Ok. Well, it took place today and I decided to watch it, to my chagrin. Here are my thoughts on the first round:

Carli Lloyd has won the award for FIFA Women’s World Player Of The Year 2015.
The Houston Dash and USWNT midfielder won the 2015 Women’s World Cup with the United States. She scored an absolutely stunning hat trick in the first half of the final against Japan; it was one of the most dominant displays in a final a player has ever put forth.
Lloyd beat out the likes of finalists Aya Miyama of Japan and Celia Sasic of Germany.
“This has been a dream of mine,” Lloyd said as she accepted the award. Lloyd was visibly emotional as she said her acceptance speech.
The big ceremony thing announcing the unveiling of Los Angeles FC's colors and crest also featured the unveiling of a new part-owner: Will Ferrell.

Bayer Leverkusen are in Florida right now during the Bundesliga's winter break (it gets a little too cold for soccer right around now in Germany) for a friendly tournament called the Florida Cup and, unsurprisingly, Leverkusen striker Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez is attracting a lot of attention from fans.

Prior to her final game, Abby Wambach drummed up her best Donald Trump impersonation, including both his political xenophobia and TV-like firings. By now you know what she said. If not, listen to the podcast here.
Initial reactions criticised Wambach almost for taking any sort of position on the matter rather than the appropriateness of her comments. Wambach has never been a quiet leader. She notoriously drops the F-bomb to fire up her team.
USWNT standout Carli Lloyd was named U.S. Soccer female player of the year, for three very obvious reasons. She scored a hat trick in the Worl Cup final, but besides, that, she was the USWNT's rock all through the tournament. This is an honor she fully deserves. Here's a big reason why:
