Now, we are not television executives, but we just watched FOX Soccer's Donald Trump USMNT commercial, and inserting a political figure who has come out strongly against Mexican immigrants and advocated for the closing of the border (whatever that means – hang a "hey this border's closed" sign on it, I guess?) into the middle of a rivalry match between the USA and Mexico for the purpose of hyping up USA fans wasn't the best idea of all time.

It’s been an up-and-down couple of months for United States Men’s National Team coach Jurgen Klinsmann.

Following wins against Germany and the Netherlands earlier this year, the Americans looked poised to cruise through the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

A shocking 2-1 loss to Jamaica in the semifinal, followed by an even more bamboozling 3-2 loss in penalties to Panama in the third place match now has the red, white and blue faithful questioning if Klinsmann is the right man for the job.

Sometimes things just start with a friend. 

“My really good friend in school when I was about 7 started playing soccer, so I signed up, just to take part and really soon after just started to enjoy it.”

It’s a little frustrating to hear that a professional soccer player started playing the game so, well, randomly. Here is someone ostensibly living a dream, and it all started off with an “I guess I’ll do that.”

As the United States Men’s National Team prepares for its all-important clash with Mexico on Oct. 10 with a spot in the 2017 Confederations Cup up for grabs, one pressing question must be asked: who really deserves to be the starting goalkeeper when these two CONCACAF rivals square off in Pasadena? Guzan vs Howard?
