NEW YORK — Los Angeles, Toronto and Mexico City have been named among the host cities for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, marking the first time the tournament will be shared by three different countries.

World soccer governing body FIFA announced the 16 cities — 11 in the United States, three in Mexico and two in Canada — that were successful from the 22 bids put forward in a special event at the Rockefeller Center in New York on Thursday. However, there was no indication where the opening game or the final would be played.

Haji Wright was only given 119 minutes for the USMNT across four games this June and it appears he won’t get anymore anytime soon. Wright featured in the first half of Tuesday’s mud-fest against El Salvador and after the game USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter said he wasn’t pleased with what he saw.

Those who tuned in to the USMNT match against El Salvador last night expecting to see a soccer game may not have been able to recognize the final product on the pitch. U.S. Coach Gregg Berhalter previously stated his intention to use the game to evaluate players on the fringes of making the World Cup roster, but the conditions made that task a virtually impossible one.

I do not envy the USMNT kit person on Tuesday night. Let’s hope they brought plenty of stain remover.

Jordan Morris scored a 91st minute header as the USMNT salvaged a 1-1 draw with El Salvador in the Concacaf Nations League on Tuesday night at Estadio Cuscatlán in San Salvador. A bigger story than the result was the mess of a field the match was played on, with rain turning an already poor pitch into a cow pasture by the end of the night.

Concacaf Nations League play resumes Tuesday night, with the U.S. men’s national team set to continue its title defense against El Salvador at the Estadio Cuscátlan in San Salvador. While El Salvador vs USMNT might not have the makings of a historic game on paper, for a large chunk of this roster there is still plenty to play for.

Good news guys, the USMNT is capable of beating Grenada. It’s hard to take too much away from the U.S. defeating Grenada 5-0 in the Concacaf Nations League on Friday, but we have a couple players to highlight for the USMNT. 

Head coach Gregg Berhalter put out the B-team for the USMNT, reasonably so, and fans got to see some fringe players try to prove their worth. Christian Pulisic and Tyler Adams didn’t even dress for the team Friday night to give you an idea of how important this game was.

Die-hard United States men’s national team fans will know the answer to the question of why is the USA playing Grenada. If you’re not as much of a super fan, then let us explain why the U.S. went from playing teams like Morocco and Uruguay to lowly Grenada.

Why Is The USA Playing Grenada?

After playing two friendly games against Morocco and Uruguay, the USMNT now has two Concacaf Nations League games to play. The first game will be in Austin, Texas, against Grenada on Friday, June 10.
