Arsenal pulled off a second big win in the span of three days when the club successfully secured the services of scout Sven Mislintat from Borussia Dortmund. The Gunners, coming off a comprehensive defeat of archrival Tottenham on Saturday, named Mislintat their new head of recruitment on Monday, an important move for the North London club.
Three years ago Ainsley Maitland-Niles was Arsenal’s second-youngest player to make a Champions League appearance behind Jack Wilshere. Still fighting for a consistent place in Arsene Wenger’s side, he went for a bold strategy to request more playing time during training on Wednesday. Maitland-Niles nutmegged Wenger.

After a scrappy, convincing win over Brighton & Hove Albion Sunday, we've been forced to confront a troubling idea. Arsenal have been acting awfully strange lately, grinding out wins against lesser teams instead of comically imploding. This is not what we signed up for.
We signed up for an Arsenal that's liable to do anything at any time for any reason, or no reason. And for the first few weeks of the season, that's what we got. Since the first international break, though, Arsenal have been acting sort of normal.
Some players just transcend the game. Others transcend the planet. While most astronomical objects discovered in the past couple decades have been given boring names with nothing more than an assortment of letters and numbers, a select few are given names, be it for a famous astronomer from the past, a mother in law or, in this case, a soccer player.
Hundreds of thousands of minor planets — essentially everything orbiting the sun that’s not a planet, dwarf planet or comet — exist in our solar system. Five of them have been named after famous footballers.
The Wenger Watch is delighting in Theo Walcott's promising campaign to become the best Europa League player of all time. Theo got himself a first-half brace, followed by goals by Olivier Giroud (his 100th for Arsenal) and Rob Holding to hold off BATE Borisov, 4-2.
