FIFA received four bids to host the 2027 Women's World Cup, soccer's governing body said on Monday, with the hosts set to be appointed at its Congress in May next year.

Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands have submitted a joint expression of interest to host the tournament while the other joint bid includes the United States and Mexico.

England captain Leah Williamson said she will miss the Women's World Cup after her club Arsenal confirmed she had suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in a Women's Super League match against Manchester United.

Williamson, 26, went down in pain 12 minutes into their 1-0 loss to United on Wednesday and she was helped off the pitch by medical staff before limping down the tunnel.

United States and Mexico will submit bid to host 2027 Women’s World Cup

The United States and Mexico will submit a bid to host the 2027 Women's World Cup, the U.S. Soccer Federation and the Mexican Football Federation announced on Wednesday.

The declaration came on the final day for teams to state their interest in holding the 32-team event. Official bidding agreements are due to FIFA by May 19, with full bids due by Dec. 8. FIFA will select the 2027 host nation or nations next May.
