El Fútbol Mexicano Está Con El Corazón Roto: Murió El Jefe Tomás Boy

El fútbol mexicano tiene un gran nudo en la garganta. La noche de este martes Tomás Boy, uno de los jugadores más talentosos y uno de los entrenadores más histriónicos de su historia, falleció a los 70 años.

Boy se encontraba hospitalizado desde el lunes debido a una tromboembolia pulmonar.

Como futbolista, El Jefe destacaba por una técnica exquisita, un remate de derecha demoledor y una visión de juego sin igual. A menudo es considerado uno de los futbolistas con más talento en la historia de la Liga MX. En sus propias palabras, "mi estilo era como el de Zinedine Zidane, la forma elegante y pulcra, sin embargo, yo era más rápido que él".

Boy debutó en Atlético Español, pasó por Atlético Potosino y se convirtió en leyenda de Tigres. Con los felinos ganó dos títulos y con 104 conquistas fue el goleador histórico del club hasta la llegada de André-Pierre Gignac.

Con la selección de México también dejó su huella, capitaneando al Tri en el Mundial de 1986.

Una vez colgado los botines, Boy no dejó la actividad y comenzó su carrera como entrenador. 

Se sentó en el banco de 10 equipos. Y si bien rozó la gloria con el Morelia, en 2011, nunca logró un campeonato. Pese a ello, su comportamiento al borde de la cancha se volvió icónico: con rabietas, pinceladas de su talento con los pies y hasta con uno que otro bailecito.

Conocida la noticia, las muestras de cariño a su figura fueron transversales, reconociendo su influencia en el fútbol mexicano durante los últimos 50 años.
