Doble travesaño arruinó el debut de México en el Mundial Femenino Sub-17

No hubo lugar para el debut soñado. La selección femenil sub-17 de México inició su aventura en el Mundial de India con una dolorosa derrota 2-1 ante China, en un partido que quizás pudiera haber tenido otro resultado si no es por un doble horizontal que le negó al Tri la apertura de la cuenta. 

México gozó de la posesión del balón (70% vs 30%) y se creó al menos 15 oportunidades de gol, pero en los momentos clave no supo transformar ese dominio en una victoria.

Doble travesaño de Maribel Flores

El ejemplo máximo de aquel desperdicio de chances vino sobre la media hora de juego, cuando Maribel Flores, una de las más activas en la ofensiva del Tri marró un lanzamiento penal, estrellándolo en el horizontal.

En el rebote, Flores alcanzó a cabecear el balón para intentar enmendar su error, pero el horizontal volvió a negarle la alegría.

Ni modo. Igual no hubiera valido, por posición de adelanto.

China aguantó el 0-0 hasta el final del primer tiempo y en el inicio de la segunda mitad se encontró con un penal a favor. Ruiqui Qiao no fue tan generosa como Flores y con un disparo rasante batió a Renata Cotta para el 1-0.

Ana Galindo, entrenadora de México, movió el equipo para intentar conseguir el empate, pero al final los espacios dejados en la retaguardia le sirvieron a China para aumentar la cuenta cuando el partido ya se iba, a través de un contragolpe finiquitado por Yu Xingyue.

En los descuentos, el Tri consiguió finalmente hacerse presente en el marcador con una anotación de Katherin Guijarro. Pero todo vino tan tarde que no alcanzó para más.

México volverá a entrar a la cancha el sábado 15 de octubre (10:30 a.m. ET) para enfrentar a España, en un duelo donde el triunfo es sumamente necesario para mantener los sueños de salir de la fase de grupos y avanzar a la siguiente ronda. China, en tanto, medirá fuerzas ante Colombia, el otro miembro del Grupo C.
