Juventus fans got a huge boost yesterday as news broke from La Gazzetta dello Sport that midfielder Paul Pogba will start against Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League Semifinals on Wednesday.
Pogba, who was out with a hamstring injury for over a month, will return as part of the midfield in a 4-3-1-2 formation, according to Gazette. He will be joined by Claudio Marchisio, Andrea Prilo, and Arturo Vidal in an attacking midfield role, giving Juventus arguably the best midfield in the semifinals, no small statement considering the quality of opposition left.
Massimiliano Allegri seemed to confirm the rest of Juventus’ formation during a press conference, according to La Gazzetta. Stephan Lichtsteiner, Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini and Patrice Evra will compromise the back 4, while Carlos Tevez and Alvaro Morata will partner up top.
Juventus will face Real Madrid in Madrid at 2:45 pm EST on Wednesday, May 13.
