After striker Luis Suarez felt the need to bite Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini, Suarez was given a four-month ban from soccer-related activity. However, not all was bad for the Uruguayan superstar, because just after the World Cup, Suarez left Liverpool to sign with FC Barcelona for around 75 million euros, which translates to about 102 million dollars for 5 years (the $/bite rate has yet to be determined). Suarez’s four-month ban will end October 25 and, interestingly, Barcelona tweeted earlier this morning that the first El Clasico will be scheduled for either October 25 or 26.
This is very intriguing because Luis Suarez may be available to debut at the Bernabeu if the game is to be played on the 26, potentially setting up a historic match-up that would feature a lineup of superstars unrivaled since Space Jam: Neymar Jr, Lionel Messi, James (Pronounced Hamez) Rodriguez, and Cristiano Ronaldo. The date is still up in the air, but if Suarez is eligible…oh my this could be a game for the ages.
