We haven’t heard from Dimitar Berbatov in a while, but that’s probably because he’s at the age where all of his footballing contemporaries have now retired. After last appearing for Greek club PAOK in 2016, the Bulgarian was out of football for a year before signing a one-year deal with Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters last August.
The 37-year-old hasn’t exactly been a revelation in India, but he’s been working hard at staying fit and maintaining that explosive speed. Just kidding, he’s been spending his gym sessions working on the only part of his game that he’s ever needed, his sublime touch.

Today, I guess he went someway towards repaying his $1 million salary by lacing an effort from 18 yards out. In typical Berbatov fashion, he hit it like his leg had fallen asleep.
Few more surreal 15-second passages of football than Wes Brown jostling for space at a set-piece, the words "Jackie Chan* will take this" and then Dimitar Berbatov (with his Pixar hairline) lazily half-volleying home his first Indian Super League goal.

Now that I’ve got your attention, here are a few other moments of the Berbs because it’s almost the freakin’ weekend, baby, we’re about to have us some fun.
