This Romanian Player Has The Biggest House Of Any Footballer

Razvan Avran has a bigger house than you. He has a bigger house than me. He has a bigger house than all of us. That is because Razvan Avram, technically, lives in a stadium. Now, before visions of Home Alone-esque shenanigans go dancing through your heads, it's important to note why Avram lives in the stadium. He can't afford to live anywhere else because his club, FC Brasov, has run into financial difficulties.

Sure, it's not exactly the Camp Nou, but it's safe to say FC Brasov's stadium is bigger than your standard house, or just about any house, really.

The second-division Romanian team is in such dire straits that several players have been forced to sleep in the changing rooms.

Before the stadium, Avram lived in a studio apartment with two teammates that had no fridge and no TV. He has even had to hitchhike his way to training, which will presumably not have to happen anymore.

“It was my decision to sleep at the stadium, in the locker room,” Avram said. “On the first night I slept on the massage table, and medical office late Monday. I hope that those in government find a solution.”

I mean, no one expected life in the Romanian second division to be easy, but this is a bit extreme. This probably goes without saying, but life as a professional footballer is only glamorous when you play for a team that can actually afford to pay you enough to afford rent somewhere. Anywhere.

Well, at least he can be happy that the Stadionul Silviu Pioesteanu is not currently on fire/exploding, because that's what the FC Brasov stadium was most known for before today.

We bet the Manchester United dressing room would be sweet to live in, though.
