Accrington Stanley scored against Wimbledon right at the end of the first half. But that was the problem. It was the end of the half. The half was over. The referee had blown his whistle.
The referee had blown his whistle literally a moment before the ball crossed the line, nullifying the goal. The Accrington Stanley players were understandably pissed.
Accrington Stanley Goal Disallowed
Shocking refereeing in the AFC Wimbledon vs Accrington Stanley match today as a half-time whistle denied a goal pic.twitter.com/PtD5ejyRI6

Yikes. We've seen some questionable refereeing decisions in our day, and that's right up there. In any other sport, because the ball had already been kicked when the whistle blew, the goal would have counted. Not soccer, though. Curious.
