Supporters of ADO Den Haag, a Dutch club from the city of The Hague, travelled to Rotterdam on Sunday for their match against Feyenoord with the greatest of intentions. While blood was being spilt between rival sets of supporters this weekend at the Manchester and Old Firm derbies, ADO Den Haag fans showered the Feyenoord support seated beneath them with a steady supply of stuffed animals.
Some context: upon realizing that the fans seated beneath them would be children from the Sofia Children’s Hospital in Rotterdam, the opposition supporters united under the call “to make an unforgettable day a lasting memory!”
Den Haag’s team out on the pitch also ensured that the children had a memorable day out, losing 3-1 to the home side.
